...I just really hope this recent Derpy-drama flareup turns out to either be a misunderstanding or trolling, 'cause seeing how some of the fandom (read: Ponychan and Equestria Daily) is reacting, if Hasbro really went ahead and gave Derpy the axe, I don't think the fanbase would survive under the sheer weight of shit-throwing that would ensue. Just my two cents.

Long story short: The Last Roundup was removed from iTunes, and WeLoveFine had to rename all their Derpy merchandise supposedly as a request from Hasbro. Nopony really has heard anything from an official source, so it's all just hearsay for now. Of note, however, is that The Last Roundup is still on The Hub's site, and it's still going to be on the latest DVD release.

Yeah, everyone's freaking out over rumors. It's getting kind of annoying, actually, because it's pretty much been this way since TLR aired. The more people freak out the more attention gets drawn to it, which causes more people to freak out, so on and so forth. So far all of the people that were supposedly spammed by "hate mail" really got barely any at all, and instead got a whole bunch of support from people afraid of the large amounts of hate hate mail that was supposedly being sent. People just need to calm down already.

Like how Golden Harvest and Minuette are still widely called "Carrot Top" and "Colgate", respectively? (Not to mention I like "Colgate" a lot more than Minuette, but yeah.)

Yeah, I think the only one that got somewhat accepted was Heartstrings, and most people just went "lawl surname" and its only brought up in fanfics as far as I can tell.

I have this to say about the whole Derpy-drama. If Disney's Goofy were a recent creation exactly as he is, people would also accuse him of being a big slam against the mentally challenged.

Hasbro making people pull their Derpy merchandize is stupid as well, since we the fans are the ones who coined her.

These controversies are never as severe as we think they are, which is actually pretty awesome, if you think about it. People just need to learn how not to overreact to rumours.
