While Cheerilee a random school teacher doesn't know how Discord is released, I'd imagine that foreign leaders would know about Discord. Definitely dragons given how long lived they are, there might even be one with living memory.

@Mage: The fighting was the proverbial last straw that cracked the seal, but it was the Elements' switching that caused the seal to start weakening at all. If the girls hadn't taken up the Elements, Discord would stay sealed forever - and actually, once the girls die, they'll have to either find new Bearers quickly or return the Elements to the Princesses in order to reseal him.

and @ Ginger, yes Twilight has a massive amount of raw magical power, but she severally lacks an ability to adjust to rapidly altering circumstances, Low stamina (she gets tired after using high amounts of magic), and very many other flaws. Yes in a raw power on power fight she'd probably kick anyone other then the princesses, but if the opponent is smart they can find a way to defeat her fairly easy.

Build a fool proof system, and the world will create a better fool.

Yeah it's like...Twi's good at set piece engagements...where she's had plenty of time to prepare herself. In a sudden fight, she'd be toast.

Pure power very rarely decides a fight. A clever, versatile fighter can do a hell of a lot more than someone who has only two or three really big hits in them before they're exhausted.

Which is why Twilight isn't really OP, yes she has a lot of POTENTIAL OP'ness, but she's very bad at using her power smartly and effectively in a pinch. Even if she goes all Chess Master any sudden changes or anything she didn't plan for that happen would throw her out of balance and leave her vulnerable.
