So probably about a bazillion posts back you guys were talking about the latent powers of Earth ponies.

And I got to thinking... most people see Celestia and Luna as Alicorns (Pegasus Unicorns) but what if they are in reality a perfect trinity of all three pony types.. Earth/Air/Magic?

So to determine what sort of magic an earth pony might have you'd just have to figure out what magic that Luna and Celestia posess that is not present in Pegasus and Unicorn ponies.

Forgive me if this theory has already been put forward... there are ALOT of posts in this thread and I havent had time to read them all!

Speaking of Derpy, this is the first time I've seen her with the weird eyes since the first episode. Been looking out for her.

Basically, she appears that way starting in FPK. The initial appearance in episode 1 was originally supposed to be a one time joke by the background animators. However, they started putting it in on purpose starting with FPK, once they heard about the fandom popularity. Because it's only a minor background detail done in the last stage of production, they were able to do it while season 1 was still going. Most of the fandom references don't start until season 2 though.

I always assumed that the elements had some sort of failsafe where they wouldn't work on anything that wasn't irredeemably evil.

I doubt the Eo H would straight up kill somepony. Although that makes me wonder what would happen if they were used on a non-magical antagonist.

Yeah, I'm thinking that the Elements don't really do anything to non-evil beings. They don't cause any collateral damage when they're used, so they seem to only affect their target in a non-destructive, purifying manner.

Well we don't have a lot of evidence from the show but I don't think the Eo H can harm anything. It's main effect seems to be dispelling evil magic. When used on Nightmare Moon it removed the dark influence from her and made her revert back to Luna. When used on Discord, it instantly reversed all of the magic he'd cast over Equestria. You could possibly even argue that this 'dispel' effect is what turned him to stone: he used his powers to break free from his imprisonment, maybe the Eo H just reversed the magic he used to get out?

I think the Elements work on stuff that either concentrated EVIL and/or concentrated negative emotion. For example, the Elements could probably reverse the effects of the Sea of Black Tears from Brütal Legend, and/or be able to permanently kill Heartless from Kingdom Hearts.

Speaking of, have there been any decent Kingdom Hearts crossovers yet?

Man, I know it would never happen, but I would kill for a pony level in KH 3.

First impression of the CMC episode I'm on: Okay, I'm probably going to find them annoying and not like the episode much.

They're not as bad as you likely think. The writers did a decent job with them.
