@Mage because it's a form of mind alteration. Their brains, memories, experiences, everything all remain the same, but suddenly their entire existence for living is abruptly altered. And what's worse, they're forced to LIKE this change.

It's petrifying.

Don't say "Regular" cider

Why not?

I mean, to get it alcoholic, you need to do something extra to its original form.

Ordinary cider is what you first get from the apples themselves, before you do whatever is needed to make it into alcoholic cider.

I agree with Ginger, to an extent on how changing Cutie Marks could be absolutely terrifying as it could cause a bit of an existential crisis if your cutie mark were no longer your own. Or if it were to represent something you had no prior experience with.

@Mage basically, It's the same reason I'm terrified of the idea of "Imprinting" from Twilight.

but since you can't have a cutie mark of something you don't like. Logically, you would be magically FORCED to like your new cutie mark

Apparently that doesn't apply to Cutie Marks gotten from Cutie Pox since Applebloom didn't instantly like all of the C Ms she got from it.

@Mio Well no, but we're talking about trading REAL cutie marks, not fake ones like those granted by Cutie Pox (I assume they're fake since real cutie marks don't grant you amazing prowess in whatever they represent, nor are you FORCED to act on them)

Cutie Pox still terrifies me though

Cutie Pox interests me, it's one of the those cool sicknesses that I would want to get just to experince it, then cure myself after it stopped being fun.

Funny though, the whole image surrfaced from the idea of AJ and Twilight trading C Ms are AJ trying to bumble through magic without being a unicorn and Twilight having to resit the urge to use her powers to harvest apples.

Yup. "Soft cider" doesn't exist in the UK. You go up and ask for a Cider when staying in England, make sure you've got an ID handy
