Yeah, okay, that's what I would call an engine or a reactor, not a battery. /semantics
You know, looking at the Apples' cider-making process, it looks like they're just making apple juice. What's the difference between apple juice and (non-alcoholic) apple cider supposed to be, anyway?
you will go to the paper towns and you will never come back
ok time to settle this, TO WIKIPEDIA!!!!!

Then what does the quality control switch do? What happens inside the machine when it's turned off?

Yup, Cider is unfiltered and unpasteurized, while juice is both.

Anyway, due to the customer's general reaction to the cider, and going on the fact that I (as a UK citizen) cannot comprehend the idea of Soft Cider. I'm going to assume that the cider they're all drinking is alcoholic

But, how? Alcohol requires fermentation, and there is no way it's had time to ferment if there selling it the day after it's pressed, or even the same day.
Especially since the entire production team is American and/or Canadian where alcoholic cider is always prefaced by Hard.....

I Just call it alcoholic Cider since it is very funny for the entire town to be desperate for it if it is alcohol.

Well forgive me for finding the idea of "Soft" cider ludicrous!

Hell, I still find the whole English people default to alcoholic When thinking of cider, while Americans default to non-alcoholic thing quite funny. If only for a English people are drunkards joke.

@Seraph. Actually, we have French fries over here. They're thin chips.
What do you call chunky fries over in america then?

Ok, in america you call chips "fries"
and in the UK we call what you call "Chips" "Crisps"
Does the word "Crisps" not exist in America?

by thin do mean very VERY thin? Cuase here Chips aren't by default a potato product, there just thin crunchy wafers, the two most common are potato chips and corn chips but tehre are others. French fires are potatoes that have been cut up and boiled in oil, size and shape only get a modifier, really big thickly cut ones are steak fires, thin long one are shoestring fires, diced into cubes are homefries etc...
