Yeah, but you can be hateful and spiteful to ANY character. Why single Scootaloo out?

It essentially came from Ms. Faust saying one day that Rainbow Dash would be a terrible sister. Combine that with how she treats Scootaloo in the show, you have Scootabuse, and when you throw in Scoot's obsession and devotion to RD, it can easily become an abuse relationship where Scoota will do absolutely anything for her idol and endure any pain for her.

As for the Flim-Flam bros's machine, it clearly is an electrothaumic mechanically-assisted Cider Press.

They used their unicorn magic to fire the "ignition" and deposit a charge in the device, which starts using a cascade thaumic conversion to convert mana/thaums into usable energy. The QC sorter runs a persistant engraved thaumic circuit that encodes a QC checking Divination-class spell, and the press/mixer tuber array is fed with a thaumically-powered vacuum pump that also drives the apple pickup sucker. Packing in barrels is done mechanically.

Clearly part of the design uses the corpse of an old steam train and cannibalizes its piston system to drive the mechanical components and provide vacuum pressure for the suction pumps.

Yeah, and I agree Dashie, while not abusive, would be a little too reckless and irresponsible to be a well-balanced big sister. Also she might have a bit of a temper, if her spats with AJ are any indication.

@Apple: You do realize I'd just scale up a polycarbon endoskeleton made with glorified enlarged Figma joints and build around that, don't you? Robot horses aren't easy to make if you want them to be more than toys.

@Ginger: Sorry, my technomancy runs away at times tl;dr it's powered by a Unicorn Magic reactor and uses a thaumic circuit to cast the same QC spell repeatedly.

I see were talking about a hypothetical Scootaloo episode, and that infamous Faust quote again. I still stand by my position of not wanting an episode with the two of them together. Seriously there has got to be something that the writers can do with Scootaloo that doesn't involve the crusaders or Rainbow Dash.

Tell me, is it really worth reading the Discworld books? I'm on the fence on reading them. There are somethings I genuinely like some things from what I've read of the setting, but some of the silliness I've read about sets my teeth on edge.

I've read pretty much all of them. They're one of the cleverest examples of Fantasy Literature, in my humble opinion.

My position is, if it works exactly like electricity, then I'm just going to call it electricity.
