@Ever Well that's why they're villains. They were jerks who flaunted their skills despite needing to rely on others anyway.

They needed apples from somewhere to use in their machine and since they identified themselves as TRAVELING salesponies, they'd need to get their supply from local orchards. (since I can't imagine importing apples being a very practical LONG TERM business module, given the amount of Cider they promised to produce.)

This means that they were taking down SAA for no reason other than that they could.

Yeah, the Flim Flam brothers were obviously Villainous (driving a family out of business and then gloating about destroying their home is obviously a bad thing), but they weren't Complete Monsters by any stretch of the imagination. They were just businessponies who went too far.

My only real issue with the episode was that it seemed to equate "cider production rights" with "the entire farm" for some reason. I mean, it can be rationalized easily enough that it's weird that the episode didn't really explain the thought process there.

The Flim Flams weren't C Ms by any definition of the word. They weren't even really all that bad. They were spiteful, cut throat, and ruthless, but so are most businessmen

The apples mentioned that the money they get from selling cider is what keeps them afloat. They lose Cider selling rights they've all but lost the farm anyway

My point is, they're not actually bad guys as such. They didn't actively prevent the Apples from making their cider or anything, they just tried to outdo them.
