One is a slice of apple, the other (moustached) has the rest of the apple.

Actually, it looks like one of them has an apple missing a single slice, and the other has that slice.

Do you suppose the brothers are twins?

Bluhbluhbluh I be ninja'd all up and down this thread.

I'm beginning to think that Rainbow have cider addiction.

Maybe this is a reason why Pinkie and AJ keep this away from RD. (Horever Pinkie can have that addiction too).
They are like the others. Strange, hideous, resisting, fighting. Only these were not like the others. They did not die.

I was a little afraid this was going to have "technology is EVIL" implications, but it luckily was more about "quality over quantity, " so I'm satisfied and liked this episode. I also like that it shows that Applejack was able to remember the lesson she learned in Applebuck Season and accept help from her friends.

By the way, the Flim Flam brothers reminded me a bit of the Weasley twins from Harry Potter, mainly because they have red manes (with white stripes) and the fact that the Weasley twins do have some con artist tendencies.

They're identical save for the cutie marks. They have to be twins.

Cynic mode again: with the mane cast helping, the Apple's productivity quintupled.

The mane cast ARE better at this than the apples sad

Honestly, judging by Granny Smith's expression when she tasted their cider during the song, it might actually have tasted pretty good. But then they decided in the end that they would sacrifice quality control and make an inferior product just for the sake of making a buck, and that screwed them over. Who would trust them after that?

Edit: Well Ginger, more people on an assembly line usually means faster work. And it's not like the Apples weren't doing anything.

I slept in late and had to watch the Youtube 480p upload....

Best. Episode. Ever.

Groovy song! Berry Punch! Doctor Whoof the Time Keeper! The Return of Jumping Lyra (seriously, where has she been this season?)! Granny Smith being badass ("What did you call me, sonny??")! Applejack's letter!

"Dear Princess Celestia... I didn't learn anything!" *trot happily across the screen*

I'm still cracking up from that! I love this show!

The Apples were also working way harder than usual. Normally they wouldn't push themselves so much.

The original deal could easily have turned into a win-win situation, except apparently none of the Apples are any good at haggling.

AJ is only running a quarter of the workload, and AB is clearly less agile than Pinkie. Rarity can work faster than Granny, and Big Mac still shows better stamina than Dashie since he was on the treadmill longer.

Relax, even otherwise it means it takes all five of them working together to outpace her working solo.

Hey so that scene where Rainbow eats the cider dirt. Reminds me of the scene where Squidward eats the dirt krabby patty.

[up]She says she was thinking in the right since the start. And well she repeated the lesson through out the episode.

@Ginger: That's more an issue of good teamwork than sheer numbers. Their numbers doubled, and they all work well together, so production went up accordingly. Because keep in mind, not only did the family now have somepony helping them in each of their jobs, they also had a pony to cover the extra jobs, keeping them from having to do double shifts. It makes sense to me, it's a reasonable progression.

@Robbie: But she knew all that shit all along. She was right, just as she said. She didn't learn it, she just had it proved.

@Robbie: Well, she already knew those things. That's not really learning.

@Robbie: Basically, she knew from the beginning that quality was more important than quantity, and that she could count on her friends. She didn't learn either of those lessons; all that happened was that what she already knew was validated.

I just don't like this niggling feeling I have that the mane cast could honestly run the farm better than the Apples could. That thought shouldn't even be capable of entering my mind

I winced in absolute terror the second Twilight and the others offered to help

@Ginger: It means that Apple Bloom and Granny Smith obviously aren't going to be as quick as the mane cast due to their age. Applejack and Big Mac were doing most of the work, so five new able bodied ponies are obviously going to significantly increase their production.

@Ginger: It means that AJ can work the cider production fast enough that it takes all five of the rest of the Mane Six to work faster than her. Everypony has their strengths, and AJ is clearly the master appleworker.

@Ace But she never once worked the Cider production alone. How do you know that?
