Speaking of the horseshoes thing from earlier, I wonder how most Equestrian ponies would view the idea of semi-permanently nailing iron horseshoes on instead of wearing their usual removeable shoes.

No doubt Rarity would be horrified by the idea, since she loves poni-pedicures.

I'll have to try my best to avoid going into Take Them Home mode XD

Be that as it may, people only like her because of an animation error. That's my issue with her being declared unofficial mascot and her fans. She's not interesting and she has nothing going for her to deserve all the praise she gets. At leas with other ponies, there are legitimate reasons for them to have their fanbase, Derpy on the other hand has no good reason to be favored so much.

yet, in The Stare Master, the hoofprints that the CMC leave behind for Fluttershy to follow, are Horseshoe shaped.

One of the things I love most about the show is how they can take a tried over used cliched episode idea, and turn it into something brilliant just through the execution.

@Chariot: She's a silly pony who's clumsy and cheerful, and does weather and package delivery duty, and also has a daughter named Dinky. Also, she's totally Dr Whoove's Companion.

@Kyler: I imagine they once had no footwear but those oldtype horseshoes, and the memory still is fresh. Or perhaps the horseshoes are now being used as steel-shod soles for heavy-duty shoes used for industrial purposes.

@Ginger:I actually would have been fine if the Crusaders were trying to do more mundane things to get them together, but as soon as you bring love potion shenanigans into it I loss all interest mostly because all of those plots tend to go roughly the same way.

Almost everything this show does is cliche and easy. Doesn't affect the quality in the slightest.

Of course, it's part of the charm that they take a rather cliché concept and took it a little beyond the call of duty. But you can only get so far with love potions. I was expecting all kinds of dating agency hijinks, not just plain 'magic, and it screws you over'.

I have some faith in the creators, and this episode will probably be not that horrible. But this does raise a few doubts.

Do we still got that betting pool going on? I think this new scenario raised the odds for 'not getting together, but shipteased' significantly.

Well, I sure hope so, but still, love potions. That ruins so much.

I'm betting on being pleasantly surprised, but if it were any other series, I'd be saying 'this is going to suck'.

Most background ponies give you reasons to want to know more about them, either through seeing how they act in the background or their character design. Derpy only got her fans because of an animation error and therefore has no legitimate reasons to be adored so much.
