It seems every new synopsis of the episode just further proves my bet.

You read it. You read it and you read it. And I want you to read it.
Predictability isn't bad when you can still shuffle enough things around it to make it nice and fresh.
@Ginger: My interest has evaporated completely. I'll catch it later if the spoilers sound interesting enough.

but why?
You have to at least give a reason. you know what I'm like. I need to know the
why!

Be that as it may, people only like her because of an
animation error. That's my issue with her being declared unofficial mascot and her fans. She's not interesting and she has nothing going for her to deserve all the praise she gets. At leas with other ponies, there are legitimate reasons for them to have their fanbase, Derpy on the other hand has no good reason to be favored so much.

They have shoes. I mean, proper shoes. I doubt horseshoes are a thing.
Except a cutie mark here and there, but you know how symbolic those are.
you will go to the paper towns and you will never come back
yet, in The Stare Master, the hoofprints that the CMC leave behind for Fluttershy to follow, are Horseshoe shaped.
One of the things I love most about the show is how they can take a tried over used cliched episode idea, and turn it into something brilliant just through the execution.

I would wonder if they're gonna play the FF Tactics A2 Love Potion resolution where Cheerilee falls sick as a result of the potion, then falls for Big Mac because he stayed to help take care of her until she recovered (The potion really didn't do anything) :3
For all we know they may still have all the dating hi-jinks as they try and match them together normally, and the Love potion is a last resort.

Man, you guys are placing your expectations way too damn high. Can't we just watch the show for a few innocent laughs and ernest moral lessons? I mean sheesh.
Spooky.

Ah, crap. I hoped Hearts and Hooves wouldn't involve a love potion.
Bide your time and hold out hope.
@Pan This. SO MUCH THIS!!

That's total bullshit that fans made up and we both know it.

Most background ponies give you reasons to want to know more about them, either through seeing how they act in the background or their character design. Derpy only got her fans because of an animation error and therefore has no legitimate reasons to be adored so much.

Yeah, for some reason, I don't think they're gonna use a love potion on their first attempt.
Was the "Want It, Need It" spell Twilight's first tactic? I don't think so
