Honestly, there were a lot of new unnamed ponies this episode, from the mail pony (I'm still all for Mr. Zip), to that yellow unicorn standing next to Twilight in the crowd scene that everyone is now going to ship with her, and that's before they even get to the new town. I'm surprised the general fandom hasn't given half of them names already.

@ginger: I think there would be a couple along the border between Equestria and the desert area Apploosa is located in. Apploosa itself is probably the furthest town into the desert.

They were. And they do have names. But the only ones I remember are Caboose (blond curly mane) and Promontory (Darker brown coat and black mane, with red bandanna around neck, I think).

There's actually a few shipping pictures of Promontory with Braeburn. It's odd, but I approve of it.

@Calnos This fandom doesn't even feel the need to justify 80% of its ships, so two ponies standing together is far more evidence than they would normally get.

Seriously, I think Applejack's party in the latest episode is the first time Fluttershy and Big Macintosh have ever been in the same room together, and yet FlutterMac shipping is incredibly popular for reasons unfathomable to me.
