Yeah...I dunno, I know it's just fannon, but portraying her as dumb always felt wrong to me. I guess it's because I've actually known wall-eyed people, so I don't make the connection between derp-eyes and stupidity.

I will never call her Ditzy Doo. Lauren sugested that is her canon name but never convirmed.

3 reasons why. 1. Derpy Hooves is cool name and there no reason why she can have this as canon name. 2. Name and stuff from that episode sugest that character is dumb. 3. I prefer fanon where Ditzy Doo is Derpy clone with pink mane who was bringing birds.

I've seen stories about her that range from having her child taken from her

to her own mother abandoning her in a forest to die. Even in the nice ones, she's mostly portrayed as being brain-damaged.

Personally i think she just has a ocular imprement, i dubt Ponyville had surgons with the skill and knoledge to repair a lazy eye when even WE can't do that.

See, I've never pictured Derpy as being stupid, just really clumsy. Like a Robinson Goldberg Contraption made of destruction. Also a little scatterbrained/absent-minded but the same can be said of most of the great scientists out there.
