I think she leans more towards The Ditz than dumb as a post. She's slow, but pretty much every popular fan interpretation painted her as being a little off in the head. It was inevitable that she was going to end up like that when she got canonized.

It's more that pretty much every fan conception of the character has been like that. It's not really that derp eyes = dumb, but the fact that she's not all there has been a part of the fanon since pretty much forever.

Anyway, yeah, I'm just going to be happy that she showed up at all, because that fact alone is pretty awesome.

@Ginger: The reason she's shown like that in the episode is because roughly %95 percent of the fandom views her like that. I understand you don't like that interpretation of the character, but that doesn't mean that the writer's were wrong to use it in that scene.
