If anything, they give us a general idea so it gives us room to speculate. They're never as specific as they say but the general idea is still there, we just don't know how much of it is true.

Interesting that they're pairing up Big Macintosh and Cheerilee. I was going to pair Mac up with Twilight in my next-gen fic but I might change that. It might be more interesting to use a different earth pony stallion (or one I just make up) in his place.

I hope that this story will help me like Cheerilee more, because her bad track-record of ignoring/being oblivious to Diamond Tiara's bullying is really annoying me because of personal issues with teachers who were the same way.

Edit: About the conversation awhile back about "would you let the ponies study you." I would let them study me as long as they didn't do anything painful or harmful, and outright POKING me, especially unexpectedly, is a major real-life Berserk Button of mine, probably because of Asperger's touch sensitivity issues. I'm ridiculously easy to startle, I absolutely HATE HATE HATE being touched from behind, especially with a poke, and I yelp when startled. Ironically, a firmer touch (like someone holding me/my hand/a firm hug) doesn't bother me as much, and I've heard that's true for many other people on the autism spectrum.

I'd also hope the ponies would know to be gentle with humans. If their hooves are at all similar to real horses' hooves, it might really hurt to be poked by a pony's hooves, even without my sensitivities.

I'm surprised they didn't use North Star from the G1 series in that picture, although Pinkie Pie would fit too since the quote is based off of the current series. But North Star in the picture would please my pun-loving sensibilities even more.

All you really need to know is that "you are already dead" is a meme.

I'm not sure if you ever mentioned it (you probably have), but what do you look for in a villain?

I doubt they had extensive enough knowledge of MLP in general to know who North Star is.

Ah, pretty good standards I say. So the only villain that sort of fits those standards would be Discord. I'm honestly rather suprised how much I have turned aganist him (and the episodes itself) since I have watched Return of Harmony.

Just read the synopsis for hearts and hooves, and maybe it's because I've just woken up, but I... buh? Buh? I just... buh?

Don't get me wrong, it sounds amazing, but I just... buh? It's so out of left field. I mean I know we always wanted an episode to focus on side characters a bit, but I never expected to actually get one.

Well... MLP is one of those rare exceptions where I'm not as obsessed with the villains as I usually am.

Didn't Family Appreciation Day do that with Granny Smith?

Mm, I guess... like I said, I just woke up and didn't even get that much sleep. And still it's probably going to be more CMC based, with their relationship sort of backgrounding... it just feels vaguely different, somehow.

come to think of it, why are the CMC trying to hook them up?

If Cheerilee is friendly with Applebloom's family she'll go easier on her in class, easy as that.

We'll probably get an explanation in the episode itself. Until then our best guess is because the plot said so.
