That would have been hilarious, bet Celestia would say yes too.

I would watch the hell out of that episode.
Celestia: I ruled this
entire freaking nation for
1000 years. Why can't I get a baby to sit still for two minutes?!

Luna: CELESTIA DOST THOU REQUIRE ASSISTANCE?
Babies: [thrilled gurgles]
Celestia: [exasperated sigh]

While RD SOUNDED like a dick, Rarity WAS dickish, and Applejack had the only justifiable reasons, I mostly believe Twilight and, thanks to Mousa, Fluttershy couldn't do the job due to their own psychological problems.
Twilight was making a summarized report about ALL OF HER SUMMARIZED REPORTS
COMBINED that screams out to me her OCD + Idol Worship problems while, thanks to Mousa, I'm now thinking that Angel is having an abusively dominant relationship with Fluttershy.
@Rarity hating to take care of kids: NOW I have an image in my head about Rarity being a successful careerwoman with Spike being a housedad. XD

I'm amazed Fluttershy even implied she would, given that she had a ton of trouble handling kids who were old enough to know not to chew power cables or landmines, and who could neither fly nor perform insanely over-the-top magic.

You know, I really do want to see that as an episode now, just to see how the writers handle it. You know it'd be funny as hell, and we need a Celestia + Luna centric episode anyways.
Is cutest plushie.

Like that wasn't obvious from the start. The Angel / Fluttershy thing

Rainbow Dash's reason was really not all that justified. The Cakes were kind of facing an emergency, and she couldn't cancel her tickets and go to a
different Wonderbolts show sometime? I mean, it's not like they're gonna stop putting on shows any time soon.
does her narcissism know no bounds!?
Yeah it does. I mean, there's Green Isn't Your Color, where she went with the whole "
I Want My Friend To Enjoy Her Fame" routine.
I have a message from another time...
I love Rarity, but there's no way in hell she should ever touch an infant.

I suspect Dash knows deep down that she's the last pony in existence who should be trusted to look after kids, and she just filtered that through her surface-level narcissism.

Unfortunately yes, fluttershy does have a hard time saying time "no".
I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen, not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.

Angel: "You'll take me on a fucking picnic and you'll fucking enjoy it, whore!" *bitchslaps*
I'MA RAPE YOU, BITCH!
Rainbow Dash would be a terrible babysitter and I was genuinely surprised the Cakes would go to her before going to Pinkie Pie. RD would be dead last on my list of choices.
I analyze "Geek Culture" here.
When All Else Fails, worry, that's the 14 way.
@Seraphem: To me it wasn't obvious. I thought that Angel was merely grouchy from having to deal with living under the care of such a weak-willed and gentle being like Fluttershy with the mounting frustration which came with, sorta like a young child that is forced to mature earlier than needed due to having a parent that was far too gentle to be even remotely assertive. It did NOT occur to me until Baby Cakes and when Mousa mentioned it.

However fluttershy aims to please others mainly becauase she is kind.

Probably not considering the prestige of the Wonderbolts.
Then how did she get the ticket she already had?
I have a message from another time...
I like to think that Angel is trying to teach Fluttershy to be more assertive by making her put up with
so much crap that eventually she's just going to flip out and tell him where to stick it. He's a
Trickster Mentor.
Angel: Bunny Celestia.

Isn't Pinkie living with the Cakes anyway? I'm surprised she hasn't been involved in taking care of the babies in anyway. Unless the Cakes are ok with letting Pinkie live in Sugarcube and live on their own elsewhere.
