@ ginger Death Of The Author is about fan's ignoring what the creator says about there work and use there own interpretation. What we're taking about is fans excepting as cannon till proven otherwise Word Of God from someone that while affiliated with the show, has no actaull say in what is and isn't cannon.

However, since it's from the person who was the major producer, it can probably be safely taken as canon unless the people currently in charge directly contradict it.
