What I mean to say is that, I get your position. That relative to us this thread moves only fast when we are not watching it because our observation appears to slow down it's progress in our own minds. This would presumably be because when constantly refreshing the page we are move at the same speed as the thread (in a manner of thinking) and we are not we are passively observing it from a slower speed, and thus it seems fast.

But where I have trouble with the application of the concept is that fluxuates too much for that to be a given. (and this might be a incorrect observation because I haven't actually tested it) but there is different number of posts for the same lengths of time. I.e five minutes spent away from the thread would lead to a different number of posts then five minutes spent watching it constantly. I am more willing to chalk it up to coincidence then anything else, it's just one of those funny things that happens.

Ah I see.

That's just plain funny.

They are entirely identical except for sex, it's like incest in it's purest, sickest, most distilled form, and it makes me highly uncomfortable.

I didn't know Rainbow's rep would take a hit, I figured her fans would stick by her. Sure recent episodes have only confirmed my bias, I didn't think they would ruin everyone else's fun so considerably.

I disgree with the "like incest" position. They are not identical in everyway, very very similar perhapse but not identical exactly.

Mage: I did find Rarity x Elusive funny eventually, but it started as "What." and then moved into Narm. But by then my suspension was already wrecked. The initial Fluttershy x Butterscotch interaction was cute and then they started crushing on each other and I thought "That felt stupidly rushed."

That Lyra in pants image is hilarious. I can just imagine Bon Bon standing offscreen facehoofing at how ridiculous it is.

Eh... The quickness of it all bothered me to, but I put that more to the wirting then anything else. The plot itself and long swatches of it was very cute and fun at times, but I will conceded that a great many things seemed condenced

Recent episodes appear to have brought out all of the closet Dash haters, turned people who were once indifferent against Dash, and has left her fanbase kind of bitter towards the writing staff.

To be fair, Dash has been kind of a prick this season.

Yeah... hopefully Read it and Weep is a more sympathetic episode for her.

I can hardly see how it wouldn't be. Hopefully we'll get to see a humbler, less appearance-focused side of her in that episode.

Dashie may be a jerk, but she's proven to be a Jerk with a Heart of Gold. Yes, it's been amplified a lot this season, but I stand by the well roundedness shown by Return of Harmony and season 1.

^Well, so can I now that I think about it, but if the conflict is going to be between Dash liking reading and not wanting to admit she likes reading, I think we can all guess what the report is going to be, and I can't see 'it's okay to like what you like even if people think you shouldn't' as anything but a small lesson in perspective for Dash.

Dashie would prolly end up admitting she likes reading, and find it doesn't detract from her awesomeness.

Re: quantum physics It has to do with your perception of the thread's speed more than anything. When I proposed it I was aware that it's only accurate when you don't think too much about it, and not without adding parameters such as what time of the day it is, what day is it in relation to new episode etc, at which point you can probably generate a reasonable model. If nothing else the name (Uncertainty Principle!) is great.

Eh, I'll hopefully be more coherent after some sleep. Anyone much more well-versed in quantum physics, feel free to blast me to the moon.

^See, in any other show an episode like this would make me physically cringe just anticipating the 'hey kids, reading is super awesome macoolbulous!' report, but I can take it if it's Dash.

*shrug* to be honest I hope their is more to this conflict then just Dash finding out she likes reading, and trying to hide it. If it is then it will probably take some of the best writing in the series for me not to roll my eyes and tune out the episode (an I'm not exactly the reading type).
