What's with this consensus that a character NEEDS their own episode to be cool?

One of my favourite Code Geass characters was Kannon, yet HE didn't recieve any focus episodes

Oh, Ginger. I'm not from Ireland - never been there, though I would love to go - but yeah, my family's pure Irish on my father's side. We're not really sure about my mother's side - poor record-keeping in 1800s New England, you see. XD

She doesn't NEED one (I think Celestia is pretty awesome as is) but it would certainly help.

If a character doesn't have a focus episode they're less likely to become well liked if only because we haven't seen them enough I'd say. Luna is an outlier receiving the majority of her fanbase before her episode.

An episode can make or break a character. That's why Rainbow's popularity is really suffering after Myseterious Mare Do Well, and Rarity became far more popular after "Suited For Sucess".

Ginger: True. Well, whether Celly gets a whole episode or not, we could stand to see a bit more characterization. I'd really like to see a scene or two of Twi and Celly hanging out and having a good time. I would d'aw so hard.

@Red Kannon was Schneizel's right hand man (yes he only appears in Season 2)

Again, I've never understood that. Single episodes have NEVER changed my opinion of a character in any significant way

@Rhyme: Exactly. While I never despised Rarity, I really started to like her more after she finally got her own focus episode - "Suited For Success", as you mentioned - that showcased what she held dear and her general philosophy on life.

@Celestia and Twi hanging out: Yes please. Twilight's probably not comfortable enough to do so, but I'd like to see Tia break through her nervousness eventually. =)

Speaking of episodes we'd like to see made, I'd really like to see more 1 on 1 episodes, episodes focusing on the relationships between 2 of the characters, like how Feeling Pinkie Keen was about Pinkie and Twilight (though several others showed up). Despite the inevitability of these probably being considered Shipping episodes, I'd still like to see them.

Holding out for a Rainbow/Rarity episode.

tbh I'm scared that giving Celestia focus would end up ruining her Magnificence somewhat

I'd still be greatly interested to see what the writers come up with though

Yeah, although that's a bad example in my opinion since that was probably pretty close to my least liked episode. Prime example of the "everyone turns into an asshole so they can learn a lesson" pattern.

I don't think the sleepover episode was that out of character for anyone. Rarity and Applejack hadn't been friends for very long yet, and at that point they were still mostly friends by association with everyone else. It makes sense that they'd clash a bit and have to work through their differences when confined.

@Badwolf: Yes, thanks, just read that part on the poll.

I'm happy about that, this is pretty much the definitive poll, and I'm glad s/he made the effort to more accurately show the different countries (Germany is at least number 5 in number of votes, that's good).

@More episodes spotlighting two ponies: YES, definitely, that's a great format. Fall Weather Friends is really awesome, and somewhat underrated, albeit also controversial as **** due to usual racial shenanigans.
