If a pony let you cuddle her only if she could poke and prod at you and learn more about humans, would it be a worthy trade?

I'd say it is.

[up]Hope you land near Zecora's hut, and not in front of a Cockatrice.

Metting Zecora would be on the goals of my expedition (that and exploring the Everfree). I would challenge her to a ryhme off.

I'm aware. It's just one of those things you have to do in life, like throwing a snowball in the northpoll and eating french toast in front of the Afile Tower.

I'd love to meet Zecora, if only because she has the best chance of figuring out how the Everfree works.

Ok, new episode was amazing. Who would've guessed we'd finally get canon history? And a Scootagram?

I have a ton of episodes recorded, so I watched Winter Wrap Up after the new episode. Twilight mentioned that the citizens of Ponyville have done it without magic for hundreds of years. I'm sensing some Retcon, because there's no way Granny Smith is several centuries old.

Also, first the Windigo, now the timber wolves. Elemental antagonists this season instead of legendary ones like last season?

[up][up][up]...Please, don't start this one again. We just got rid of that point xD

Twi sin't an historian AND it's probably a Retcon anyway.

[down]This, too.

So, in Family Appreciation Day, did anyone else repeatedly fear that Apple Bloom's attempts to forestall Granny's presentation would end up ruining the Zap-Apple harvest, or at least the jam making?

When they pretended that Apple Bloom was sick, and they said that she'd have to stay home "all week", my first thought was "She's going to have to cop to the lie, or miss out on making jam."

Then, when they attempted to pick the apples early, I feared that they'd succeed in picking them, leaving them with under-ripe Zap-Apples good for nothing.

And then, when Apple Bloom got Granny on the train that "takes all day", I thought that she'd realize all too late that with her gone all day, they wouldn't be able to make the jam.

Except, none of that came to pass, despite it all looking like it'd end up with that sort of result. All of the deceptions failed without any real incident.
I have a message from another time...

[up] Nothing can stop zap-apple jam from being made. Nothing.

Just so I don't bring up any old topics, what've I missed?

I wonder if we'll see Volcanic Wolves, completing the Fire, Ice, Lightning trio.

[up] Except for everything that has an effect on it which is apparently everything in the world.

[up] The timber wolves were made of wood, so I don't think they had too much to do with electricity.

@Shota, page 2679: That was the founding of EQUESTRIA, not the founding of PONYVILLE. Two different things.

Earth ponies. Windigos. Timber Wolves.

If we include sea ponies, that pretty much rounds up the four western elements.

Actually, no, I forgot fire. Nevermind.

If you count the Timber Wolves as Fire, perhaps.

Which is, I suppose, not that far of a stretch, since timber is firewood.

[up] I'd put the timber wolves as Earth, because plants usually fall into that category.

Also, my only knowledge of the elements comes from Avatar, so I might not be thinking of the same elements as others.

When they're not their own element (grass or wood or something), they're usually lumped in with earth.

I'm an idiot who can't understand wood today. Why would I think they were electricity.

Do they even have French Toast in France? I thought it was one of those Americans-name-something-foreign-to-sound-cool things, like French Fries.

And I missed the last 80(!) pages, but I'll presume I wasn't the only person who felt lackluster about "Family Appreciation Day." It was an okay episode for me, but didn't seem to really get anywhere and was fairly predictable. The CMC's efforts to derail Granny's presentation were the only highlights of the episode for me. I'm more interested in seeing "Baby Cakes" already...

Hmm... some of Patchouli's wood element attacks are rendered as electricity. Not sure if the same applies for the Chinese elements, though.
