There's an epic shipping Pinkiedash fanfic called "The Party Hasn't Ended" that's pretty much the opposite of Cupcakes and is listed on the Fanfic Recommendations. In fact, one chapter opens up with a hilarious parody of Cupcakes (I won't spoil it for anyone).

Well I think I should try to write a Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash fanfic anyway because I'm pretty much a male Pinkie Pie and I do like Rainbow Dash a lot.

I wasn't aware the standards at ED (it feels strange using those initials...) were that high. I've found quite a few poorly done (and not in the parodying way) fics, especially among crossovers.

Which is a crying shame cause there is a huge potential in that department. Or at least I enjoy them. >.>

Sometimes it is very strange having constant Protection from Mood Whiplash.

If Cupcakes weren't written, something equivalent would have.

Could have been worse than Cupcakes... Could have been "Raspberry Heaven, I'm Coming Back to You" or "Rectified Anonymity" level effed up. But yeah... those 2 are the only ones that I've read that are more disturbing than Cupcakes.

And you don't really need to have firsthand experience with relationships to write them, I don't think. I've never been in a relationship period, and I still managed to write a(allegedly)good shipfic.

They're both on the So Bad It's Horrible Page. RHICBTY is on there courtesy of me. A year later and I still remember how damned disturbing that fic was... And Rectified Anonymity is better known as (cue ominous thunder) THE POKEMON STORY.

Note that I said "worst that I've read." Not gonna touch Chibiusa's Seventh Birthday for OBVIOUS reasons.

I tend to leave ED with fanfiction on because I always like to read the little synopses. Although after proofreading a bunch of your guys' fics, I decided to take a bit of a look at some of the material being posted. So far I've come to the conclusion that I need to stay away from the sad tag (in addition to not wanting to touch the grim-dark tag from the get go). I thought I could handle it, but I guess I go into a bit of a bit of a more emotional mode where ponies are concerned. I just finished reading the Tales fic a bit ago (the one where a speculation of a much older Twilight looks back on her life) and while there were some cute moments, I felt like it was dominated by the sadder stuff and I was left with a really bitter taste in my mouth by the time I finished.

Just so everyone knows, I added Lyra, Bon Bon, and Doctor Whoof (or Whooves if you prefer) to the character page in an attempt to clean up the Other section and because they seem prominent enough to warrant their own entries.

Heh why does it seem that confessing you like this show is a LOT like coming out as LGBT? Hell, I just tried to explain the appeal of this show to the skype group I'm in and... yeah. Granted I didn't do it the best of ways. I said "I'm a Brony. Look it up for yourselves" and they landed on the Urban Dictionary definition. Which was inaccurate. Got made fun of by... some guy named Matthew Kaguka? LOL. Buuuut Fi M is a great way to weed out people who are suck.
