Ah, you see Ginger, it came out about the time I wasn't really watching children's movies anymore. Or at least not that often. Of course, these days I just don't give a shit whether it's a children's movie or not. Some of my favorite movies within the last two years have been chiildren's movies. For example, Coraline and Rango. The simpler explanation was my heart was a withered black lump. This may or may not still be the case.

Well, I was skeptical before the reviews started coming in. At the time I associated Dreamworks mostly with crappy Shrek sequels and Shark Tale, so Jack Black as a panda didn't sound promising to me.

It's the only film I've seen where the production crew fucked up and made the antagonist too sympathetic

(necessitating scenes be added to make him more evil)
