@Enlong: Wasn't the competition in Cloudsdale, not Ponyville? Then again, if the Canterlot elite did know anything about the time Rainbow Dash won the competition, they'd also know about Rarity's big showoff stunt where her wings burned up and she had to be rescued, so that might be another reason she wouldn't want to mention that. She certainly wouldn't want them to think she's a gaudy showoff, that would probably not be seen as "proper behavior, " especially since she accidentally knocked out the Wonderbolts when she fell! Rarity may have thought "Let us never speak of this again" in reference to her behavior at the competition (like what she said about her Discorded rock obsession) and she wouldn't want to bring up that competition when talking to ponies she wants to impress. I still don't like that she lied, but thinking about how embarrassed Rarity might have been after the competition gives a bit of "Fridge Relief" to her behavior in that specific instance. (Fridge Relief being my proposed opposite to Fridge Horror, where something doesn't seem as bad upon further reflection)

If Rainbow Dash ever found out, maybe she'd want to make it true by aspiring to not only join the Wonderbolts, but to actually become their trainer!

Hmm... I'd say Tai as an Earth Pony, Matt as Unicorn, Sora as a Pegasus, Mimi as an Earth Pony, Izzy, as a Unicorn, Joe as Pegasus, TK as Unicorn. and Kari as an Earth Pony.

Regarding Crooked Trees (the Ask Pinkamena guy), he has a new tumblr.

It's about Luna. It looks very...broody. He is not taking questions though. Probably because that's kind of what killed his enthusiasm for Ask Pinkamena.

What's wrong with it? He's into music, which seems a more unicornish thing.

I would have maybe called him a pegasus, since they seem a bit more aggressive, save for Fluttershy. I also would have pegged Joe as a unicorn, since he wanted to be a doctor. I'd say he might be a unicorn because he was flighty, but considering he got the equivalent of loyalty...

Reversing them could work I guess. And TK does seem a better Pegasus that unicorn. I guess their crests would be their cutie marks.

It'd be just a bit unfair when it came to the second season, though. Three of the new kids get two apiece.

Dang, that's some good artwork. I liked how Ask Pinkamena was pretty monochromatic, but his art looks even better with colors.

Hmm. The tone seems a little too dour for my usual tastes and I usually thrive on depressing crap.

I used to check at least 10 daily, but I haven't done that in a few months. I should get on that.

Luna tumblrs always seem to be broody, psychotic, or woobie to me.

Honestly I've never liked Crooked Trees artwork. I guess I never liked how the ponies coats looked so much like skin.

So a question has been running through my head since last evening. Which of our favorite pastel ponies would be a good detective? Of course, Twilight comes to mind as she is highly intelligent and studious, but sometimes she focuses her attention too acutely. I also doubt she'd have the stomach for dealing with murder.

Spike. He's practically an honorary pony, anyway. And being Twilight's assistant for so long has had to sharpen his intellect to some degree.

I'd say that if AJ and Twilight teamed up they could pull it off pretty easily. AJ is good at reading ponies, but Twilight would be better at picking the evidence out of the crime scene; AJ isn't detail-oriented enough for that.
