When I think about it, Twilight and Pinkie are actually very much alike. Both of them put a huge amount of emphasis on the approval of specific others and tend to suffer "episodes" when they think that approval is in jeopardy. Both of them are kind of puzzling their way through social interaction using an imperfect understanding of the rules* . It's just that Pinkie is more extroverted and less educated than Twilight.

An episode focusing on Rarity and Dash? That would be quite interesting! They would have an interesting dynamic if they ever really interacted. Rarity clashes with Applejack because of AJ's earthy functionalism and prudence, but Dash is as prissy and particular as Rarity in her own way - she just focuses on coolness instead of chic.

Maybe Rarity does something that gets RD interested in clothes making. Except she goes for making COOL clothes (hipster stuff basically) and starts up a business rivaling Rarity's. Cue Unfriendly Competition

Rainbow Dash dressed in style before it was cool.

They seem to be able to do anything they need to with their hooves and mouth. If a pony can play an instrument, they can do just about anything.
