I dislike sad and grimdark fics but I'm not completly against dark ones. If it have some interesting elements or ideas like crossover with something what I like (Fallout Equestria is good example but I know it can be not that good for someone who is not fan of Fallout)

Actually, I prety much thought of what that second comic said as soon as I saw the episode. I figured everyone in the old land would've either been encased in ice or otherwise prospered without their incompetent leaders

There was one where Twilight can't comply with Owlowiscious's death and Fluttershy comes to aid. Wasn't long, was pretty moving and interesting. I'd say Bittersweet, but of smaller calibre.

Or, it was just conservation of detail or something. The leaders and assistants are the most important characters in the play, so they focus on them instead of having to throw a large set of extras onto the stage in every scene.

I mean, in productions of Hamlet, during the scene with the play, do you put a bunch of extras to fill out the audience and the entire cast of the Play-Within-A-Play? No, that'd be wasteful. You focus on the characters exchanging dialogue in that scene. That is, Hamlet, his mother, the king, Ophelia, and the actor playing a queen in the play-within-a-play. And maybe a few extras to make it look less empty, depending on who's directing it.

That's pretty much what I figured it. Besides the play honestly feels like something that young school children would put on (which is appropriate considering the target audience).

I imagine if it were closer to real life it would be a massive production with hundreds of extras and would be put on by the Canterlot Grand Opera Company to close out the season.

Maybe the play was intentionally made simpler because the mane cast AREN'T professional actors?

I still think the version of the play that the mane cast were performing was some kind of one off special. Kind of like a novelty show. How many times to you get to see the bearers of harmony on stage?

You go to the proper show to see the actual tale. You go to THIS one for the mane cast.

I agree that SOPA must be stopped, even though I'm not in the States. Big Money does not deserve that kind of control.

In more fanworky news, I find that OC ponies seem to be a little less disliked than other oc characters. It must because brony authors are actually pretty good, so you get endearing characters like Ice Pack, Velvet, and a version of Maplejack that has been, ahaha, appropriated from MAD TV's Cowboys and Equestrians parody short.

(Ice Pack: Comfort Stallion zebra. Velvet: Canterlot boutique owner who specializes in bedroom apparel. Maplejack!OC: There's a version of her who is a Future Space Pony, and a version of her who is currently zonked out in Ponyville Spa after fainting in the hot bath.)

There are also interesting alternate takes on the ponies, such as Echo Fleetfoot the Wonderbolt, Diane Pie the alternate universe counterpart of Pinkie, and John's take on Molestia, who is actually pretty amusing and witty when she's not being too smutty.

Now a days people are more accepting of OC ponies, but people used to have pretty bad kneejerk reactions to them in the past, and I imagine some of them still do.

Part of the reason I'm still wondering how my oc pony Bright Idea could fit into Equestria. Perhaps introduce her doing contract work?

I find OC ponies can very by writer, like any other O Cs, but have a bit more leeway in their presentation because they are so common that most other O Cs. If that makes sense.

Btw, can someone tell me in simple terms what SOPA's going to do? I hear about it everywhere but no one will seem to tell me what it IS exactly.

I know what it's potential EFFECTS could be, but I don't know what the bill itself entails

Basically, it allows for all sorts of nasty censoring nonsense to happen without prior investigation of copyright violations. The best I can say is to hit the official anti-SOPA site, or visit the wiki article. Something along the lines of allowance for fast shutdowns of suspected copyright violators.

...Can we ask Celestia to banish all the SOPA supporters to the moooooooon?

Sort of like how in the one seen establishing the relationship between the pony races, there were obviously more than 2 ponies comprising each race, it's just easier for all involved to not show all the others.

We tried to ban alcoholic beverages and that failed. Even if these did passed there's no way it'll last. ...Government can't stop me from watching ponies. Or at least until the blu-rays come out.
