Well, we've got two excellent opportunities for them to make an appearance coming up. Hopefully we'll finally get an explanation for that.

That doesn't really answer the question of what happened to her parents. Are they dead? On another farm?

Theories about "what" Pinky may really be.

1. The result of a secret magical experminent by a group of unicorns or one or both of the princesses in order to create a new FOURTH breed of pony (1. unicorns, 2. earth ponies, 3. pegasi, 4. ?????)

2. The disembodied "good" half or conscience of Discord given flesh.

3. A reincarnated lesser deity of Earth Ponies.

Thoughts on episode 5 S2:

It was cute, pretty solid. I totaly called AJ and Rarity switching the second she was full body covered in mud. I think it's the mark of a good show when it leaves you thinking that neither side was 100% in the right or in the wrong, but that everyone did grow and learn from the experince.

Not sure what that letter had to do with the Magic of Friendship but what eves, the episode was good anyway.

So....thoughts on Season 2 episode 3:

It was....meh.

Not bad persay, but not particuarly strong in my view. It set up further plot points, changed the game a bit, but largely...meh. A let down, especailly after the last two episodes where so awesome.

I think my big problem with this one....is the characters. Twilight's break down was funny and all (though PP's and Fluttershy's where still better) but...it didn't feel organic. None of the characters did this episode. Did we change writers or something? Was this one written by a new guy?

Rarity was over the top, and everyone else was barely a pressnce. But worst of all was Twilight...I mean yeah she always been a dedicated student and all, and her flip out was sound from a character prespective, but it happened to fast with two little build up. She almost went instantly from calm controled person of reason to bunny boiling psycho (metaphore there!).

So...meh. Not bad but not good, it felt like the characters where not characters by rather charictures there to advance the plot and buy a cheep laugh.

Though Princess C is still BAMF.

That was pretty much my reaction as well. You're not alone.

The constant disasters were a little ridiculous. I find it helps if you just assume that there was actually a longer time frame there, with other episodes happening in between the scenes.

That was my interpertation too. I like how it was lampshaded at the end where RD can't find a disaster when she needs to.

If you can stomach a little grimdark, Fallout Equestria is really good. It can be depressing though, so be warned.

There are also some good abridged series you might want to check out, like Friendship is Witchcraft.

Also, be aware that "Fallout Equestria" is quite long.

Oh, and stay away from a fanfic called "Cupcakes, " unless an Ax Crazy mass-murderer Pinkie Pie sounds like something you'd enjoy.
