I'm going to preemptively contrast what I believe is going to be joy about Luna Eclipsed. Until Secret of my Excess, it was my least favorite Season 2 episode. It wasn't bad in the slightest, but wasn't great. Luna made the episode, but everything else about it was just...meh. Really nice background music though.

Yeah. Like I said, Luna pretty much made the episode. With her personality and quirks(?), she's up there. If Luna had been different, I would not have liked her or the episode as much.*

@Crowfall: I'm not a big fan of the episode, but I agree with you that the cast's flaws were exaggerated. My main issue is that Rainbow Dash comes across really badly, compounded by the fact that Ponyville is just way too disaster-ridden.

Pinkie Pie is a way better pony than Applejack.

The constant disasters were a little ridiculous. I find it helps if you just assume that there was actually a longer time frame there, with other episodes happening in between the scenes.
