Personally, I didn't think Chronicles was that great of an episode. The only stories that really stood out to me where Rarity and Pinkie's. The Rock Farm is just too hilarious to me. I'm also not really a fan of the sonic rainboom much in general.

Uh...first pagetopper? Have some Silva Hound. Youtube

^I'm just glad you're not calling the rock farm into discontinuity, Mage. People have done that in the past - it's always baffled me as to why, and they never give a good explanation beyond 'it's Pinkie Pie'. Have we ever seen Pinkie lie to anyone (aside from (spoiled for Mage's sake) Dash during "Mare-Do-Well", that is)?

The reason I'm not calling the rock farm in discontinuity is because it's PP. I think the whole story fits her perfectly.

EDIT: Screw my spelling >.>

And heck, in recent episodes, mention is made to maturing and growing gemstones. Rock farming is a real thing.
I have a message from another time...

Pinkie might have misintepreted the rock farm thing. She might have been living on a geode farm, or on a farm hit hard by Parasprites that was being nurtured back into useable condition.

I think I've mentioned it a couple times, but I'm not a fan of Spike in general. The episodes focusing on him tend to be my least favorites, and the jokes he's involved in I just don't really find funny. I think he's great in Best Night Ever and is at his best in Lesson Zero though.

or they just didn't do the research about how to cut gemstones.

I've been seeing crystal farm kits on sale in various places like bookstores and TRU. I wonder how the Mane 6 would react to getting such a kit as a present?

@Mage: Wait, so you are calling it into discontinuity... because it fits? Flat What, man. (I'll tell you this - there's some definite proof for it in episode 25, "Party of One".)

Glad to see people acknowledge that the quiet ones are always into the kinkiest stuff

They didn't, the Native Americans where here first.
lol first

The natives is a fancy word for "the previous conquerors"

@thefran, L Mage: they were the first wave of colonists from Russia over Alaska during the Cold Age thousands of years back, so they got first dibs. Keep it civil kthnx

As for my previous thingie about the crystal farmkits, I imagine Rarity and Twilight would be most fascinated by them, while Pinkie may not be too pleased about being reminded about her rock farm days. Rarity would then be disappointed that the gems produced were water-soluble and not useable as jewelry, but she'll end up using them as boutique decorations.

^^You missed the pothole. I sincerely believe that Fluttershy and her eventual partner will have the tenderest, warmest and most romantic purely vanilla sex on the planet.

But, on the topic of rock farming... it does seem to make sense that crystals and gems can be grown by geologically-talented earth ponies. That might help to explain why Pinkie was so unhappy at first; she wasn't very good at it because her earth pony magic wasn't gemstone-focused. (Granted, I'm sure she was much happier once her parents and sisters learned to lighten up, as well.) They do seem to occur naturally, too, which supports the whole 'natural, but assisted' theme Equestria seems to work on. (I mean, there's no way rainbows don't occur naturally - that would require a whole different set of diffraction/photon physics - but a similar substance is made in Cloudsdale.) That sort of thing.

[up] The Diamond Dog episode reinforces this. After all, if gem stones can be grown and harvested it would explain why there was so many just scatered around in the ground that no one seemed to be aware of. There like wild strawberries: can grow anywhere but can be clutivated en'mass as well, but are also better when found in the wild.

Well, it's about bedtime for me, folks - as usual, five hours after I should have been asleep. Unfortunately for you guys, I no longer feel responsible for my actions or words by this late, and thus, Mage, I bring you one entirely shameless plug and a less-shameless plug for something you might actually find useful.

If you like Fluttershy (you should) and the idea of Gilda getting hit by lightning (once, so far), being humiliated (definitely more than once), and working through her own flaws to make herself a better person (work in progress), you should read this. I've been told it's pretty good.

Also, you should come hang out at the ponyfic thread. We do a lot of fanonbuilding there - we also trade and bounce ideas and provide feedback for each other. It's a pretty sweet setup.

And now, good night, everyone!

Edit: ^Hop on over to the fanfic thread and let's hear them!

@Cookoo: Well, I had a one for Radiant Historia being mashed up with ponies, although it might look rather like Fallout Equestria on account of being After the End of a Golden Age civilisation.

I would write a fic myself, but my writing style telds to become dull when writing anything longer than a few paragraphs.

EDIT for spelling and typos, the other reason I am unwilling to write one. Proofreading would be painful. ^_^

Oh right. Red, you were the one who wrote Gryphon A Second Chance, weren't you? It was one of the first fics I read and is one of the reasons Gilda's my favorite jerk. Compliments to you and such.
