K....so just finished 6.

Twilight was kind of badass here, but I stand by that without Spkie to bring out her better qualties I wouldn't like her half as much as I should.

I love Rarity even more now, but am largely amibivalnt to Trixe. She dosen't seem to be overtly malicous like Gilda was, but at the same time she was grating on my nerves.

Is it just me or all male ponies either labor-force (the pegasi pulling Twlight's wagon back in episode 1) or idiots like Snips and Snails. And is Snails Canadian Eh?

It can't be an immigration story! The Apple clan helped found Ponyville!

^There aren't many male ponies, but they aren't all labor any more than the mares are. You'll see stallion businessowners like Davenport soon enough, and then there's Fancy Pants in season two.

@Mage Ah, I just loved Trixie cuz she was a ham. A glorious ham. [lol]

She's my favourite character in the WHOLE show

That's it. I'm going to sleep before the bomb hits.

...aaaand it appears that I am being way too cynical. In which case I need to go to bed anyway.

But you-know-whona is best ham.

Twilight Sparkle and Spike do complement each other pretty well, I have to admit.

[up][up][up][up][up]Male ponies? They appear rarer than females until season 2

Yes I found her Hamminess funny. I just don't like her much as a character, she's the kind of person that I would hate with a burning passion if I knew her in real life, but from a distant wouldn't mind to much.

[up][up][up][up] Ah but the voice gives her an unfair advantage! [lol]

[up] Trixie always struck me as being hideously insecure. I can relate to her in a lot of ways. I can understand if others can't though

If not the moon raiser, she could have been Filly Mays.

Trixie is definitely insecure. If she comes back hopefully this would be addressed and reconciled.

Thats a fair observation I suppose.

Also what is Trixies special talent? Magic like Twilight? If so why wasn't she as good at it?
Enlong avatar
#57287 from The Magitek Holyland
[up][up][up] I think it's a combination of a certain measure of insecurity and a lot of earnest boastfulness.

[up] She was good at it. In fact, I can't remember, but I think Trixie said as much? I only watched the ep once.

I think that it's because Twilight has spent the better part of her entire life studying, while Trixie has spent her time taking her act on the road. Twilight knows more spells and more theory, is how I see it.

General consensus is that Trixie's talent is PERFORMING. She's skilled at using magic that makes her look good on stage.

She'd make a great storyteller

Trixie wants to feel special. That's her motivation. She doesn't set out wanting to make others look bad, she just wants to be remembered. Selfish, but understandable goal

[up][up]I am now imagining a fanfic in which the two are musicians and they have a rock off.

[up]Like Zecora? (Story telling wise)

Well, she succeeded with us. cool

I honestly want Trixie to come back. She probably won't, but I can dream, right? [lol]

So episode 7 confirms that Twilight - Spike = insufferable. She just takes things way to seriously.

I just want to wrap Fluttershy up in a blanket and shield her from the world. She's so cute. And then she goes all BAMF on the Dragon and I think I woke my sister up with my squueing.

Over Ponies.

Over cute magical Ponies.

I think I see where all the hype is coming from, even if it was slow out of the gate. In other news:

God could Rainbowdash have been and ruder to Fluttershy? Doesn’t seem very loyal to turn on a friend when it becomes inconvenient to have them around. Also what part of kicking a dragon in the face is smart in the least bit?

Hehe Rarity came the closest to actually dealing with the dragon. I think she is quickly becoming my favorite.

Did I miss something? What was the danger that Dragon's smoke was bringing to the world exactly? Any reason that had to climb up and wake it? How did no one think this was a bad plan?

[up] Hey, AJ was pretty awesome too. She was the only one who willing to put up with Fluttershy. Volunteered to carry her ALL the way up a mountain, and SAVED Twilight's life waii

^^The dragon's smoke was starting to settle directly around Ponyville and the rest of the country. Not a good situation for the ponies.

Basically air pollution/smog.

Heh, smog. Smaug.

Fair

[up][up]

I guess I wasn't exactly clear on the why this was a danger. I think if some adverse effects had been shown it would have made the situation more "real" as is it just comes off like a plot device.

Episode 7 seems to be a pretty common "this is where the show hooked me" point.

With the smog, it wasn't very bad yet, but with 100 years it would have covered a lot more area.

Ginger, you're one of my favorite people on this thread. Don't freak out about stuff so much.
