How I spent Hearth Warming's Eve:

Went to a Science Center at a Mall with some friends. Not the best time I've ever had. Some exhibits were great. (They had a hurricane simulation booth) Others were meh, some were just broken. I got to play a little Child of Eden on Kinect in the last exhibit. It's alright. Friends and I parted ways slightly after.

Went to Kinokuniya bookstore and attended a book signing by Sonny Liew, the author of Malinky Robot, a damn fine indie comic from Image Comics. I got a copy of the collection signed, plus a cool robot sketch. I gave him my deviantart profile. (I said I was interested in art, heh.) He was also giving away a bunch of prints of his work and some other Asian artists. I got one. It had hot girls with guns.

The mall I went to has a LRT (Light Rail Transit- basically a monorail system) stop in the basement. On my way back there I observed bronies in the wild for the first time. They had been attending a comics convention nearby and were heading back. They were decked out in Pins, T-shirts, balloons, the whole nine yards. I struck up a conversation with one guy dressed up as Surprise. Apparently no one recognized his costume. Everyone thought he was an angel with a blonde afro.

Said he was a member of the Malaysian Bronies Society and invited me to join their Facebook group. We said our goodbyes; then they rounded the corner and disappeared.

Took the train home, then the bus. It started drizzling slightly. I stuffed my goods under my shirt and made it home relatively dry.

Yep, just about perfect.

8 foot candy cane! look at the size of it compared to the fillies. Someone else will need to do the math, but I swear this rounds down the adult ponies to about 4 foot or under

Fun size ponies are canon, yay! Remember bronies, ask permission from your favorite pony before picking her up for hugs.

It seems that season 2's schedule is following the same pattern as season 1. Episode 11, two week break, episode 12, month long break, then it resumes as normal.

So... any last minute predictions?

Remember, if the play goes into a flashback where the mane cast are playing the characters, I was the one who called it first

Her actions in the rest of the episode are one of the reasons I think that it was a case of her "forgetting tot urn off her swag", so to speak. If swiping it was her intent from the beginning, she wouldn't have been so moved by it. Also, she's not even that subtle when she's actually trying to charm/beg a favor from someone, as we've seen in a couple of other episodes.

But anyway, to stop derailing the current line of discussion. Last minute predictions? Discord caused the blizzard. The tribes are inspired partially by Celestia and Luna, even just by their forms, to come together. The mane cast end up going through racial tensions of their own as a result of disagreeing over the message of the play.

I'm beginning to side with JT in that I think it was a misunderstanding between the animators and the writers. because outside of that ONE scene you're right, she doesn't act like she was intending to take it, but in the scene in question she looks WAY TOO seductive. (She was making BEDROOM eyes at Spike for pete's sake)

That, and I still think it was rude of her to want it in the first place. It's like nicking someone's birthday cake off of them. It's understandable why she'd act that way, but still rude.

edit: I'd be happy if there were NO DEITIES involved in this fiasco at all. It was all the Ponies

Well, I think she can be given something of a pass for wanting it, at least initially. As a designer*

, and one whose specialty/favorite style appears to be using gems in her fashions, I can understand that her first instinct was to be appalled when she learned that the most perfect gem she's ever seen has been planned to be eaten. Of course, then she learns the full story behind it.

You'd think Rarity would know by now how important gems are to Spike. They're only his FAVOURITE food ever. I can't see how she'd be surprised that he was going to eat it.

I imagine her thought process was something like "OH MY CELESTIA! That's the most PERFECT gem I've ever seen- wait, he's going to eat it? This is a CRIME AGAINST FASH- oh wait, dragon, right."

Is there a pony tabletop RPG yet? Or at least a different ruleset adapted to the setting?

Evidently not Dungeons & Dragons, because what kind of insane person would try and adapt the ruleset that will suit the least.

She doesn't even incorperate it into any kind of ensemble though. She just embeds it in a fucking necklace and strolls around showing it off.

Honestly, I burst out laughing when she revealed that necklace. It was completely involuntary, it just happened

Maybe she'll work that necklace into a cape, who knows? I dunno. I feel like shrugging at a lot of this.

Taking someone's stuff on their birthday is a very particular type of What Do You Mean It's Not Heinous? to me. Even if it's "JUSTIFIED" I still don't like it

Yes. People wanting to trade my birthday gifts for money because they wanted my gifts.

I'm not the one who wrote it, so I can't vouch for its proper-ness. It's just the one I remembered.

In any case, why not have that particular thing? It's the natural attack that's used for horned creatures of whatever kind.
