@pvt: Yeah, something like that, only with a tool-mount harness strapped around it so she can actually manipulate her delicate equipment without Telekinesis. Apart from her goggles and ponytail-style mane, her toolshoe is her main accessory.

Ah - I can see it being some sort of spring-loaded thing so she can step into it and it grabs her leg, and then she can maneuver it around as needed. Then step out or press a release mechanism and it is allowed to slip off. Might have variants for working with different things?

Get two Ponies wearing similiar widgets, and you can get them to tag-team some complex or arduous task, like blacksmithing. One hold the metal in tongs, the other wields the hammer...

Or, this is a fine-tuned version of that. More delicate, allows work on smaller things.

I can see the A.R.M. being maneuvered via head and mouth movements by a bit and tackle arrangement coupled with the collar. Steampunk Ponies, they rock.

@Ginger: Eeee-yup. She's also called "Bri" and whenever somepony teases her about crushing on a cute stallion they call her "Bride Dear". Mwahahahahaaa.

@pvt: Close, but I was thinking more of a Tactical Hoof Shoe, with the strapped mountings allowing her to slot in and lock more delicate tools like her chip-tweezers, her soldering iron (by an insulated locking bit), and a variety of screwdrivers and chisels and such. A Hammer shoe sounds like a neat idea though. Such a Shoe would be easy to sell to other Earth Ponies because you can also use it for more mundane stuff like spoons and cup handles and ropes/carabiners attached to ropes... It'd revolutionize Earth Pony industry if it were mass-produced. Even Rarity could find a use for it to hold her sewing supplies at hoof for easy retrieval.

Yes. Yes it is.

Bright Idea needs to crush on a Unicorn Stallion that is studying applied sciences. They end up working together on stuff and form a dynamic duo or something or other. He can be totally oblivious about it, if you like.

Adorkable? Yeah, she is in some ways. As you can tell from her excited "SUCCESS!" pose, she can be quite vocal about getting her inventions to work exactly as planned. She's also easily distracted, as when presented with a problem, she tends to get sidetracked into designing this gadget for one thing, then coming up with something barely tangentally related while figuring out the first invention, and then with one side-invention after another she forgets what she was working on in the first place, kinda like Leonard da Quirm sometimes. Twilight and Rarity would despair at seeing how orderly her tools are kept in the eye of the storm that is her messy workshop, with half-assembled artifacts and thingamajigs everywhere.

She also hates some kinds of devices and will try to get anypony she can to ditch "those outmoded, inefficient pieces of junk" and try her new and improved gadgetry. Not everypony is amused.

She really should start selling her tactical hoofshoes alongside her lamps.

Yeah, that needs to happen!

If she were to encounter Applelight's OC ponies, she would definitely start arguing with the Clockpunk Inventor about the best ways to set up gear mechanisms and other such machinery details. She'd then develop a crush on him and go all tsundere, and her feelings would betray themselves when she finds the Clockpunk Inventor's name etched into one of her thaumic-powered circuitboards (you know, like how some chip foundries design part of the circuit pathing to have fancy decorative patterns when viewed under a microscope) and somepony like Rarity notices and teases her, nicknaming her "Bride Dear" in the process.

We...er...we should consider making this happen.

I must warn you though...my inventer is hilariously unhinged...see a cuckoo clock struck him on the head and he hasn't been the same since.
