[up][up] Yarp. I'm guessing it would explode.

Actually there's a question;

what would the rainuke do to a horse?

And actually yeah, I could picture RD using her superior agility to just get the horse to injure himself or get stuck.

Tons: Correct, only Draft Horses can reach about that weight. Typical horses weigh in at still weigh holyhellhuge more than Applejack, or about 800-1200 pounds.

Very much a David and Goliath thing, if they ever actually fought.

They will not. For all I care, I could make 'striking another Equine' a capital offense in Horse Law. Throwback to when Horses served Alicorns, maybe.

I imagine a rainnuke would do to a horse what a comparable sized bomb would do to any creature. The ony reason the initating pegasus survives the maneuver has to be because of their innate magic.

Edit: Allthough it would lack the incendiary component of the explosion.

Then what would it do to a dragon?

Probably severely injure them at least. I can see dragons being tough enough to survive though.

Golems...earth ponies are Jews?

That explains why I once read a fanfic that kept referring to Fluttershy as a "gentile pegasus".

The Rainuke kind of annoys me...to me it's like Dash is now Superman...why fear any enemy when you could just blow them up?

[up] In my headcanon it's because despite all of Dash's bravado, she could never stomach actually killing anything.

[up][up] That...really needs to be made into a real fic. waii

[up][up] This can be solved with sufficient application of The Worf Effect.

Yeah, a rainnuke would make short work of a Horse. that is their weakness - Ponies have far more magic and abilities at their disposal. Horses are left with just their sheer physical stature and strength, but that only gets them so far in life.

Hence why the've been having to resort to trading with Earth Ponies to maintain what little vestiges of civilization they have, lest they go... feral.

They're relics. Clinging desperately to a fragment of Ancient Equestria, but stubbornly unwilling to surrender themselves into living in harmony within it now.

Perhaps Celestia needs to convince them otherwise?

[up][up][up][up][up][up][up][up] Depends on the age, for a Basil class minor damage to the wings and heavy damage to the eyes I'd guess. Maybe some internal damage due to the shockwave I don't know. In the air it might be a game ender.

[up][up][up][up] Cause that's not how problems are solved in this show? Cause Rainbow isn't the type to murder all her problems away?

We don't really have much of a handle on how powerful the rainuke is though. It's only victim was a rickety old barn that RD was quite comfortably taking care of with her hooves prior to using it.

AJ and Twilight were also incredibly close to ground Zero, yet felt no shock from the blast.

I don't know if it's weak (I don't think so) but we also don't knw if it's all that strong either

[up] Good point. It's entirely possible that a rainbomb has no real shockwave to speak of, and that the dust cloud only happened because of the force of the landing. That would essentially make it into a really strong punch.

[up][up][up][up] Luna might be better at convincing them. Like the horses she is kind of a relic from an older time, no real purpose but still trying to integrate.

[up][up] I think the Sonic Rainboom might actually be stronger.

Hmmm, baring in mind that a human can rip wood apart if strong enough...maybe the Rainuke isn't that powerful afterall...would undoubtedly hurt though.

Luna as the Diplomat?

So, Celestia tries, but is rebuffed. Luna takes a go at it, and actually manages to persuade them to deliver some sort of reconciliation decree or whatever the heck to whoever is in charge of the remnants of the Caballus Kingdom.

Or better yet, it takes both of them to pull it off.

At the very least, it would splatter anypony who was unfortunate to survive a direct hit. Whether or not it's an AOE weapon is beginning to become shaky in my head.

[up][up][up][up] Wood is stronger than flesh isn't it? So it'd do damage to unarmoured targets.

[up][up][up] And the two working together would serve as an excellent example of the old working with the new. Despite Luna being younger than Celestia.

[up] Roughly the size of a barn?

Okay, here's another angle I hadn't considered:

When Luna turned into Noghtmare Moon, what few Horses still existed in Equestria fled, seeing that the Kingdom was falling apart. Stubbornly, they were unwilling to return, despite Celestia exiling Luna to the moon and fixing the mess that resulted.

A thousand years later, rumors that Princess Luna has rightfully returned to her place, and Horses are beginning to scout into Equestria to find out if it's really true or not.

And it takes Luna's appearing before the three scouts to convince them that yes, Equestria has been restored, and that they can come back.

Or something. Does that work...?

The rainnuke would probably cause serious damage with a direct hit, the same as any object falling from the sky, but probably doesn' have any AOE outside of shockwave.
I'm probably supposed to be doing work right now.

Actually, I'm starting to think that the Rainuke is just a powerful bodyslam...and the dust and rainbow cloud is just a result of a Pegasi's magic kicking in (like the rainbow trail).

Dash just sort of crashed into the ground and the (old and already damaged wooden shed) just sort of burst apart.

[up][up] Yeah that could work.

Dammit! Now I'm starting to think I need to re-write some parts of my prologue. I don't want to do that!
