We're not saying you do, Ginger. I'm saying that some people treat her like the injured party in the situation, and ignore what she did wrong. I like her, and I think she could be construed sympathetically, but none of that changes the fact that she was a jerk to begin with, even if it was justified.

@kegi Y'see, my favourite types of characters ARE the genuine jerks. because I like to imagine what they'd be like if someone tried to teach them to be better. People aren't evil. There's goodness in EVERYONE. If I can believe that about HUMANS, then I can certainly believe that about ponies too.

That's why I hold out hope... because... why not?

Boy, you are preaching to the head of the choir here. I like Trixie for that exact same reason - she could be good, and I'd like to think about what she might be like if she got over her issues.

But it's a fairly moot point. We're just saying that the excessively forgiving fans are annoying.

I dunno. I guess I just found the episode kinda unimpressive and the character fairly forgettable, and then the bombardment of the slew of "Trixie didn't do anything wrong!" stuff, and, well, dunno.

I'm just not really feeling a great desire to see a character I was apathetic towards the first time and whose reappearance I just know would cause the fandom to go nuts.

Oh yeah, and I kinda dislike the Twixie pairing that's popular in fanart and fanfiction. I feel about that kinda the way I feel about shipping in other fandoms.

Actually, I'll agree that Boast Busters ISN'T a very good episode. The only reason I love it is because of Trixie. That's the ONLY reason

I'm sorry, Death. Yes, Basil was rough, and yes, he could have killed them. But he cooled down soon enough, and that's ingoring the fact that they barged into his fucking house, kicked him in the face and tried to steal his shit. He was perfectly justified in being angry there. The smoke? His bad. Did he know about it? Who knows, but he was sure as hell willing to get up and leave when they told him it was a problem, so there's that.

True enough. There's the excuse that he was half-asleep and not terribly interested, but he was still rude. Neither party is guiltless here, is what I'm getting at. I hadn't meant to victimize him, only say that he had a right to be angry. And keep in mind that while Twilight did politely epxlain the situation, she did it after walking into his house. But again, no guiltless party.
