Several things I note about that picture:

Shining Armor's not an alicorn. There's a cutout of him over on the right, and unless his jacket is really bulky, he has no wings.
The number of young bronies in the picture pleases me. Granted, they're probably all just pulling the collective hair of the target audience, but...

In case anybrony is too lazy to read last page, I present Prince Shining Armor and Princess Cadence! ...again.

Is Cadence related to our Alicorn Sisters, or is she the ruler of a neighboring country to Equestria?

I would related lessons I learnt either first-or-second-hand, revisit previous lessons, share interesting or amusing stories about everyday life, or just ask nicely for a two-way ticket to Equestria so's I can have a holiday in pony country.

I'm more interested in the fact that they created some new ponies that actually match the show's art style and aren't horribly off-model vectors.

Maybe those two ponies are like the standard Equestrian fairy-tale characters. Like Shining Armor is the pony equivalent of Prince Charming as a stock character.

Shining Armor isn't referred to as "Prince" (as seen in the other pic)

, so it makes sense that he isn't an alicorn—he must be marrying into royalty.

After seeing Princess Cadence, a thought occurred to me about Mare Do Well. Before the big reveal, Dashie saw Mare Do Well both use magic and fly using wings. There's only one type of pony that has both features, but we haven't seen many on the show. So maybe alicorns aren't quite as big a deal as first appear (which I guess would make being a princess in addition to being an alicorn what makes them a huge deal?)? */rambling*

Just saw that too. Has a pretty nice ring to it.

Might just be makeup, but Princess Cadence has gradient wings. Pretty sure we haven't seen any other ponies with gradient wings.

Also, think it's a coincidence that she's got pretty much the exact same hair colors as Cupcake/Sugarcup

Yeah, I'm pretty sure we have no official info on them beyond "this exists", so I'm just going to sit tight and not worry about the potential fanon burning until we hear whether they're canon or not.

@ Kuroi One of the important issues in my fic is where Alicorns come from. The existance of another Alicorn at all complicates things greatly. Learning anything at all about her could bring the whole thing crashing to the ground unless I outright ignore her existance. I could always go the route of "she doesn't appear in the show, so she doesn't exist, " but I don't like it.

For the record, Cadence is a musical term. Not sure how relevent that will be in the long run.
