There. She's the strongest, she's fast and agile, she's depenable, she's a great sister...she has dat voice...

Who's saying she doesn't specialize? What about all that lower-body strength of hers? Which isn't to say that she's not strong in the rest of her body, but her rear legs are the strongest part of her, certainly.

^That's true for almost every animal, though, even quadrupeds. An average human with no training of any kind who doesn't exercise at all can strike a hell of a lot harder with their legs than with their arms.

Anyway, yeah - I see Applejack as The Mario. She's not flashy, but in terms of dependability, she's a rock (assuming she's had enough sleep).

honestly, I'd be fine with AJ being a relatively weak (compared to the rest of the cast) Badass Normal type character if that's what she was written as, but she isn't. It's the overshadowing which bugs me the more than anything.

She is VERY easily overshadowed

But she explicitly exercises her back legs more in her line of work. So, even moreso.

She can also carry big weights, run very fast, somehow manipulate a rope perfectly with her mouth or tail...

AJ is not that overshadowed. She was first pony who Twilight dediqorded in Ro H 2 , and she helped with rest of disqorded mane cast (who were hostile).

Hippocampi are only sea ponies for me. Rest are spawns of Pony Cthutlu. Exept Narwal , who are separate spiecies, and they are awesome (and protect everypony from Pony Cthutlu)

I think that one of the best things the show does to show off Applejack is the way that she's almost always either a leader or "Second in command" among the group. She's the one they go to for advice.

I agree, Twi's the more logical candidate for a court scenario. Although Fluttershy could possibly use her stare and Pinkie might be able to get away with a Chewbacca Defense.

Its results are similar to the one we had in this thread! Like in our survey, it's Twilight at the top with Fluttershy behind. Pretty huge difference, however, is Pinkie being number three! In our survey, she was dead last. Opposite problem with Applejack, who shared place three in our survey, but came last in this one. I find that pretty interesting.

Also, the overwhelming majority of Pony watchers (well, the voters, anyway) are males over 20. No big surprise there.

@Ginger: I'm really sorry that you take Applejack so much to heart Let's just try to all be upbeat and get along, OK? I mean, I could be sad about Pinkie not being poular here or Zecora being RIDICULOUSLY underrated, but I can understand the thought processes and don't let it get to me .

Speaking of Zecora, is Rich still doing that thing?

Edit: Now I really want to see a To Kill a Mockingbird crossover with AJ as Atticus. I think she'd be wonderful.
