I read a fic recently where all the mares in ponyville were at "that time of the year, " and all the other stallions had skipped town. He didn't know about it 'cause he was always working the farm in previous years. It was funny.

Say, here's a thought? Have we seen magic used on an EP? Trixie vs. Aj doesn't count, because it was a rope being manipulated and not AJ.

Maybe the EP's special talent is No Sell - they can use Anti-Magic, or something.

Oh that's so right. It's not like there's a team of highly-trained pegasi that are faster and better-coordinated than her at her best, and who she one day hopes to come close to.

I mean, where would we find six pegasi like that? That's just silly.

Why nopony mentioning Appleloosa? They builder town in desert during year, and manage to defend them self against Bison tribe by using apple pies as weapon.

I'm not sure Earth Ponies are orders of magnitude stronger than the other races, but I'm willing to bet they have much better endurance. That is to say they can exert greater force over a long period of time. Just look at the train from "Over A Barrel, " a group of Earth Ponies pulled that huge-ass train weighing Celestia-knows-how-much for hours and hours on end without stopping.

@Ginger: Oh... well, damn. I just had the great image of somepony trying to cast a spell on BM, and it just slides off. At which point he calmly says, "Nnnnope.".

physically, maybe. but then, do we know about her endurance? The wonderbolts have to fly as hard as they can for a good, long time... we haven't seen her doing all that much for all that long, andf she is pretty lazy. Plus, can she trail stormclouds behind her? Pegasi have more magic than we give them credit for, methinks.

maybe they can be effected by enchanted objects...but actually trying to cast a spell directly upon them is next to imposible

I'd be lax to call what discord does magic, at least in the sense ponies use it. His is probably a much more raw, primordial form of magic when copared to the ponies more refined. Harmonious magic vs. Discordian magic, I guess.

Well, we didn't see them perform to their fullest in that episode, what with getting kicked and everything. And they were pretty darn fast (off-screen) in the latest episode.

@Rainbow: That's how I see it. I've always identified her as Boring, but Practical; yeah, she doesn't have all the big flashy stuff, but she's about a thousand times more consistent and reliable than pretty much any other pony.
