@Crowind: The Discord thing most definitely had wider effects, and the celebration at the end is pretty obviously a national thing. The pilot is more low key, but given that Luna just showed up after a millennium of absence you'd think somepony would ask question.
^^Exactly. And even when she lived in Canterlot, Twilight was a borderline recluse; her classmates knew her, but I doubt anyone else really would.

^Celestia doesn't strike me as the type to neuralize anyone. Also, why the hell would she even throw a celebration and announce that the Bearers were now heroes if she was just going to mindwipe everyone there? It'd be easier just to do a localized strike on Ponyville rather than making it a nationally-publicized event.
