Yeah, I figured he doesn't REALLY like being in a position of such power, where ponies mindlessly follow his every word, so on occassion he likes to fuck with them

Oh come on Ginger, it really wasn't that bad. Yeah, it was standard fare Pinkie shenanigans, but... actually no, it's probably best if I don't even try to defend it to you. I might convince you, and then you'd have a brain anuerism.

Anyways, just try and focus on the good. A lot the best parts were before she showed up, after all. Just focus on the nice new song, or on all the new background ponies. And two new canon wonderbolts, if we can ever tell them apart.

It's not what she did, it's the fact that EVERYONE goes on about it. Spotlight Stealing, oversaturation, Hype Backlash. stuff like that

@ginger: Affably Evil is quite different from just Evil. Come on, he'd be perfect! Someone who even the Princess can't touch.

him being Affably Evil would be great, as long as his pleasantness wasn't all just an act.

Affably Evil is one of my favourite tropes

@ginger: Eh, I doubt that'd be an act. It'd seem pointless for a pony of his status. He just enjoys it.

Maybe he smuggles contraband products from the diamond dogs and uses the bits gained to build an orphanage and schools for poor. From which he also gets some of his henchmen. xD

For that I can forgive anything bad about this ep (and there wasn't anything really anyway).

They are like the others. Strange, hideous, resisting, fighting. Only these were not like the others. They did not die.

Also, thinking about it now, I like that Twilight and company are totally OK with Rarity leaving the birthday party to 'drum up business'. It wasn't a clichéd friend vs. ambition thing, and that is great!

Yeah, that was probably the second best twist of the episode (after the Mane cast abruptly showing up)

But then they felt the need to join the party
