@Kegisak: At first, that made me sad. Then I made it my headcanon that that pony wasn't about to let others experience the same pain that she did, so she resolves to be the heroic pony that she thought the Mare Do Well was, so nopony else will be let down.

I'd say it would've been better if the MMDW vanished without a trace. Maybe leaving a note behind saying that ponyville no longer needs her (or that it's already in somepony elses capable hooves)

That would actually be a cool episode. The MMDW shows up again and the cast is like, what the heck? Then she unmasks as Trixie and is all, "yes! It was Trixie all along, and you have no proof otherwise!"

@J Teeth: My mind went to pretty much the same place. Except maybe one of the five went to her in the costume and gave her a little inspirational word, but in the end it's pretty much the same.

Weird, Mysterio always fascinated me. I find his concept to devious creative and alluring to be comparable to Trixie, though.. Now that I think about it, you have a point.

How do wings work inside the MMDW suit? I admit that I know next to nothing about wings, but would they still be able to generate lift when covered in a layer of spandex? (the wonderbolts don't cover their wings when they perform)

Maybe they just dye the wings the color of the fabric. Or alternately, the wings are functional when covered by spandex, but it restricts the finesse. Fluttershy didn't really do anything fancy when she did the flyby, so that could be possible. The Wonderbolts do a lot more complicated stunts, so they need the extra control.

That sounds plausible, I think I'll go with the second theory. (though the image of Fluttershy walking around with suspiciously purple wings IS adorable)
