I agree, Flutter doesn't seem like the type to have a "Cheerilee." she barely seems to interact with anyone unless it's her friends or has to do with animals.

Fluttershy and snails?

I can actually see it...if we assume that Snails is into animals. Bugs and such.

Maybe...Snails can appreciate the little creatures that other ponies might not (like snails, slugs and woodlice) and FS likes that. And of course, he likes her knowledge of animals.

Plus, I can't imagine that a boy like snails would pass up the chance to hang around a pretty older girl.
