Because it is the grimdarkest thing there is and has a well developed setting that includes both sci-fi, fantasy, and lovecraftian fiction (which I consider being a separate genre)

@Seraphem, That's my source of Dn D knowledge too. I did not grow up in optimal conditions to grow up with tabletop RP Gs.

40K is the awesomeness thing to have ever been brain birthed. It's basically GRIMDARK and Rule of Cool. I just played the Dawn of War games myself but damn.

I don't want the poor ponies having to fight Genestealers, Daemons or Necrons etc.

I just want to use the system to create a way to recreate the Battle of Appleoosa etc.

40K is best in controlled doses. Like Warp Travel.

I think it would make a bit more sense for Twilight to do that. Celestia could be in Professor Oak's position. Fluttershy would be her friend wants to be a Pokemon breeder. She wouldn't like making them battle.

What types do you think the Mane cast would use, anyway? As protagonist Twilight would probably have a mix. Applejack would use grass types, Rainbow Dash would use Flying types (obviously), not sure about Rarity or Pinkie Pie. Trixie uses Psychic types.

Well! Time to get started on some fan art, I guess.

@Ginger: I liked it. I don't think the cast was being particularly dickish. They probably could have found an easier way to get Rainbow to chill, but I like to think they were deliberately screwing with her a little. And don't tell me that's bad friendship, because I've never known friends that didn't engage in occasional lighthearted heckling. It wasn't really any worse than Rainbow constantly pulling pranks, and if it got out of hand that's her fault for overreacting.

There's plenty of hope once you realize that only 20% of worlds is actually getting eaten by tyranids, summoning demons, embroiled in endless war with orks, captured and tortured for amusement, Exterminatus'd!

That's a whole...80% left with good people. Granted, only 50% are actually somewhat effective, but still.

Twi would use Psychic and dark types and good ol' Applejack would use grass, earth, steel, and ground types.

Fluttershy would use pokemon that are like woodland creatures, bug types, normal types, grass types, some water types.

Rainbow Dash would use fire, flying, and anything that is fast or looks cool.

Rarity would use pokemon that are associated with gems and precious stones and elegant pokemon. Perhaps the Raltz line.
