Build a fool proof system, and the world will create a better fool.
Unicorn spellcasting in Equestria must be documented well enough for ponies to learn each other's spells, which suggests that there is some kind of underlying programming language or spellscript being used.
You know Twilight is always pretty adamant about unicorn magic being the only magic despite the fact that all ponies seem to be at least somewhat magical. I wonder if she is ignorant about other forms of magic, magic is one of those words that has multiple meaings in Equestria, or if she's just being arrogant?

I think it's the difference between active magic and passive magic, only Unicorns have active magic, while the Earth and Pegasus ponies magic is strictly passive.

Perhaps she sees unicorn spellcasting as magic "proper" and does not count species innate abilities in a land as steeped in natural magic as Equestria.
Perhaps Unicorn telekinesis is either a cantrip spell or a species-innate.
nothing says that book was about TK, she could have been reading abook on anything, and just trying to use the TK to turn the pages.

What's that trope called where the protagonist is just BORN better than everyone else?

Twilight wasn't learning telekinesis; she was practicing moving the pages with her horn and not her mouth.
