Layout artist Nayuki says that Pip's a pinto. I don't know what the difference is, though.

Tank is the best pet for RD, because RD represents loyalty, something the other pets just didn't have. RD will try to win every race... unless someone else needs her help, then she'll drop the race and go do the right thing. Tank showed loyalty despite RD's treatment, and in the end, won over RD's heart.

Also, flying tortoise is awesome

Actually, I'd hug pretty much anypony except for Pokey Pierce. That... wouldn't end well.

Why bother asking? She'd panic anyway . I guess the episode didn't provide much materiel for geeky over thinking like Luna or the cute pox would.

Late to the party, but I'll admit that I originally thought "May the Best Pet Win!" would end up a lackluster episode due to the lackluster premise.

Boy, was I wrong. Even though it was obvious that RD would end up picking the tortoise, the presentation was just great. The musical carried the first act, the competition sustained the second, and Rainbow Dash's dawning resolution of doing the right thing topped off the cake. Not to mention that "Tank" is an awesome name, and having a flying propeller makes him even cooler.

About the only thing I'm not sure about now is whether having another Rainbow Dash-centered episode next week is really a good idea, but I'm sure I'll be wrong about that too...
