I mean, wouldn't having an asexual protagonist be refreshing? Especially if the side characters have romances, so it's not just a choice for the book, but just one for the protagonist.
I agree with this part even as someone who sometimes likes romance; giving asexuals some representation for once seems even better.

[up][up][up][up] Time alone for what? They have both made it clear that they've got no interest in anything we'd need to give them time alone for. [lol]

Also: I'm a bit sad. My summary was re-written wholesale on the synopsis page.

Don't be silly, Tvtropesnoob, I'm not bi. I just find our similarities fascinating.

I hesitate to bring it up, but I dislike the assumption that romance and sexuality are the same thing. It's perfectly possible to be asexual and in a romantic relationship.

I've been around here long enough to understand that one. Never get tired of hearing it.

Well I'm fully aware you were. Odd detail to remember but it's there in my memory banks, 'twas why I had to clarify in my joke post to Tvtropesnoob. And because almost everyone in this forum is either bi, homo, trans, or asexual. It's an accomplishment to admit you're straight around here.

I'm straight, and saying that's an accomplishment? Huh.

I guess my mind defaults to "straight until I hear otherwise".

Of course, I tend to judge gender based on a combination of username and avatar, which is not always a combination that yields the correct answer.

[up]So do I. It was sometimes accurate for me, the name and avatar combination. Sometimes writing style.

I used to think "Straight until proven otherwise" too.

Then I came here.

What threads are you visiting that you quickly learn everyone's sexuality?

heh, I'm still like that though. Outside of the internet, almost everyone I know is straight.

I'm sorry if my orientation is annoying you sad

[up][up]Yack fest, On Topic Conversations, and before that, IJBM. I've sort of limited my pool to this thread and the R Ps in the past month. I'll be re-expanding when I get better.

[up]It's not annoying me, I was saying that previous statement in jest. I don't care what anyone's sexuality is. I just think it's funny.

I know what you mean Mousa; I hardly ever encountered gay or bi people (that I know of) in real life, but here I've seen a ton. And that's not even opening the mentally challenged can of worms that are also common here. I wonder why this place is filled with those folks?

I've never met a transexual in real life (or one who told me about it at any rate), but I think there are several here.

I suppose there is a sampling bias as people are more willing to discuss such matters in the pseudo anonymity of the internet.

I think it may have something to do with 'net anonymity - I definitely found it much easier to be open about my sexuality on here before I came out last year once I got to college. For what it's worth, I'm very glad to see how welcoming this community (the forums in general, and this thread in particular) is of people. We've had a few disagreements, but generally speaking, folks are very accepting here.

Well done, Rich. Take a break now; you deserve it.

Rich I salute you. I read it and it was a job well done. Now quit while you're ahead, you still have your whole sanity ahead of you.

Besides, people can only bust out so many rhymes. I write lyrics in my spare time so I know that there's a point when you can get spent.
