I really don't have any firm leanings either way. Over all I think of them as being asexual more then anything else. At least in Cannon, fanfic wise, I'm all for whatever makes a good story...Not that kind!!!...(exclusively)...

If I had to explain the way my headcannon for it works, I'd say that ponies really don't give a hoof about sex for the sake of sex, and just form relationships with other ponies that they enjoy being with personality wise, gender not factoring into it. As to reproduction, well the very very skewed male/female ratio pretty much requires that Stallions mate with more then a single Mare on average just to keep population growth from going into the negatives. So i'd figure if a mare/pair of mares want a foal they find a willing stallion that basically serves as a turkey baster.

basically sex for ponies is nothing more then a means to get a foal, and relationships are entirely based on two ponies just really loving each other, with gender being meaningless to them.

That's my attitude as well. All asexual 'till proven otherwise.

She'd probably require some infomation first before she gives out animals. RD doesn't need to do that obviously. That's what I think anyway.
