I don't really consider it a blatant attempt at merchandising because the Toy people completely ignore the show anyway. They'll give RD whatever accessories they want.
It's pronounced "Te-ah-low-ve"
clip was hilarious. love gummy suction cupped onto Pinkie's head. but the best was the Flutternodding.
Build a fool proof system, and the world will create a better fool.
@ Rhyme Beat: Kegisak is right though, geometric shapes are very important. Everything is made out of geometric shapes. You can't just "draw" you need to sketch outlines and skeletons, making rough outlines of where every joint and major body part is going to be. Especially circles, when doing ponies circles are very important.

When All Else Fails, worry, that's the 14 way.
My method is usually using a model picture, so I used a pic from the show for reference. I guess Luna's design is more complicated so that model didn't work out as well.
I wonder how soon before someone makes a gif of Flutternod.
As a reference. And is it really that bad?
The animation did look quite good, actually, even by show standards. I'll be looking forward to the whole episode.
I'm a college student! I don't have time for this!
Even with a model, the skeleton is still the most important part by far. the model should only help you arrange the pose of the skeleton. But the lines and circles are what guide your overall drawing. It's like stretching a canvas over a wireframe - you can arrange the wireframe on your own, but the canvas over top of it wll follow the frame. It's also a really good 'rough. It's simple enough to draw in seconds, but expressive enough that you can immediately see when something is wrong with the drawing.
Great clip. Best part was Gummy "brain parasite" annd what PP do with Flutershy.
They are like the others. Strange, hideous, resisting, fighting. Only these were not like the others. They did not die.
What I used to do when I dabbled with drawing is to take a photocopy or printout of some character and draw guide lines and circles on top of
that. Kind of like reverse-engineering an artist's final product. Not to copy their style (unless I'm attempting fanart), but to get a feel for how things are built.
Does that make sense?
But apart, all we are is just a pile of mush and some crumbly dry mess...
I hope Gummy Brain Parasite become meme.

I'll do some right friggin' now.
