For some reason I NEVER considered Owlowiscious a pet. Maybe because the damn thing's smarter than Spike.

Yeah, Angel was the one I never thought of as a pet.

...I still hope the pet turns out to be a fish. But barring that, definitely the bat. The eagle and falcon don't look terribly kid-friendly, and we've already got an owl. Plus, Dash snoozing with the bat flopped on her head would be almost as cute as a fish living in her cloud and jumping out to give her a high-five.

Why would RD choose the bat? Is it gonna do something awesome? or is she gonna see it get into trouble (perhaps after being shunned for losing the race) and feel sorry for it?

She initially brushes it off, but it either A) tries really hard to win her over, and succeeds through it's grit, or B) it saves her, and she adopts it out of gratitude, eventually coming to love it?

I wasn't expecting all of the Mane 6 to show up for the race (if that's what is going on in the picture). I wonder if Dash getting a pet was at least partially their idea?

My guesses either the bat wins (Rainbow Dash with a bat pet, how can that not be awesome?), none of them win and there's some moral about oh I don't know...something, or a turtle that's not in the picture wins.
