I honestly wonder how this episode is gonna go down.

I can see RD taking several levels in jerkass as the situation unfolds. Similar to Spike from "Ow's Well", but even WORSE (Since Spike at least had an understandable motive for trying to get rid of Owlowiscious.)

I wonder why we're supposed to be cheering for RD

For a majority of the episode I doubt that they will expect us to. I'm expecting a big What the Hell, Hero? moment possibly followed by a My God, What Have I Done? moment. Dash may or may not show a bit of real heroism near the end after which she will have learned an important lesson and be Easily Forgiven.

I'm pretty excited for the Spike episode, just because Giant!Spike seems hilarious.

Also, the whole "Wonderbolt-disguised-to-test-RD" theory is a good one. It'll probably be Spitfire, because Soarin' seems a bit incompetent to me.

I always thought of Soarin' as a Bunny-Ears Lawyer. Zany, but also INCREDIBLY COMPETENT at what he does (in my headcanon he's the second most skilled wonderbolt after Spitfire)

He wouldn't have been allowed to join if he wasn't good
