I dunno, this episode didn't feel weak t me, I love it a lot, surprisingly more than "Luna, Eclipsed" and "The Sisterhooves Social".

Also, is ti me or have we been getting a to of mileage out of the apple family in these first couple of eps this season. Granny Smith and/or Big Mas have appeared in nearly every episode doing or saying something.

I'm going to agree with Seraphem on this one. The scene of her showing off her hoop ability got a bit long. They should have shortened that and drug out the scene where she starts getting all the cutie marks at once; because that was a lot funnier.

As far as Cheerilee stopping the class for it, for all we know it's normal for ponies to do that. I mean, getting a cutie mark is basically a life-defining moment, so it isn't all that weird to put aside an hour or so to celebrate it. Not to mention that Cheerilee probably thinks that Apple Bloom needs the attention after being picked on about it for so long.

I'm not sure what I'd call the "weakest" episode of the season so far, especially because it depends on the criteria you're using. If we're going purely on how strong the writing is, I'd probably have to call (I'm so getting lynched for this) "Luna Eclipsed" weakest, just because I think the moral got a bit muddled in the whole "they don't like it when I scare them oh wait they actually do like it" thing. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the episode and I thought the way they handled Luna's characterization was great, but I think things didn't fit together quite as neatly as they could have. Fortunately, Luna's Large Ham tendencies distract from that so much that it isn't an issue.

I thought the entire sequence of Scootaloo showing off was the animation team showing off and going nuts, Looney Tunes style. Acknowledge the sheer awesomeness of the entire segment. Plus, I spent it squeeing and giggling at the Moe Moe overload. Especially Twilarity, and Spike's reaction. I had to pause at that point. She's your surrogate mom, you creep! XDDDDD

I found this episode to be my least favorite of season 2 so far. But then again, I didn't like Bridle Gossip either, and that was a very similar episode.

YMMV, should pretty much be expected at this point. I think we should all be glad that there hasn't been any real Base Breakers at this point.

AJ was awesomely pro-active in this episode (the way she just up and HEADBUTTS the seeds out of Zecorah's tail for example)

The only part of the episode that I was kinda "eh?" about was the whole Seeds of Truth cure. What constituted "The Truth" exactly? Couldn't Twilight have said: "You're a Zebra, Zecora" or AJ have said: "I love my sister, " and have it still have the same effect?

Truth needed to this was confesion of lying.

That's true, but the way Zecora worded it made it sound like any truth would work.

I think it was an issue of it not being truth so much as AB confessing, but the way Zecora talks made it unclear.

This, basically.

The rhyming of speech makes the message unclear, I'll never be equal to Rich Reeders, I fear.

It seems like even the mane cast are sometimes confused by Zecora's rhyming. Zecora had to explain the seeds of truth THREE times before they finally got it

Sorry for being a few pages late.

I think Apple Bloom is going through a whole spectrum of feelings at the time. That's known to happen at big moments in one person's life. So its not too hard to imagine that AB is being both supportive and smug, just as whichever emotion comes into prominence at the given moment.

@Mousa the 14th - I too have noticed we've gotten more apple this season. Hopefully this means Applejack will finally get some more fans.

The Apples have really shone through so far. AJ is becoming a good Team Mum, Big Mac has Super Strength, and Granny isn't comepletely useless.
