No matter I did enjoy the episode regardless and do think this is Merriwether's better works compared to The Mysterious Mare Do Well.

I've said it before, but "Hearths Warming Eve" is pretty much the only episode that bypassed the "Like You Would Really Do It" part of my brain and made me actually worried about the physical safety of the characters.

Partly because the fact that these were historical characters meant that the show actually could kill them off without upsetting the status quo. And partly because I was not expecting any sort of deadly peril in the Christmas episode.

I always think it's weird when people don't like Hearth's Warming Eve. It's one of my favorite episodes.

I'm probably one of 5 people who found HWE to be rather uninteresting.

It's one of my fave episodes as wel. But I'm a sucker for worldbuilding and Star Swirl the Bearded was mentioned (for the two of you who don't know, I'm a big Star Swirl fan).

Re-posting this because JT and I are currently the only people making images for the tumblr. JT is often too busy, and I've run into some problems I won't get into here. If anyone else would like to step up to the plate, we'd certainly appreciate it.

Oh, I never would have guessed. Your cute scientist protagonist who just happens to be named Starswirl was purely coincidence.

Home for Labor Day. Me reading a webcomic came in handy in my art history class today xD

@Meta: I didn't really get that, mainly because the fact that the episode is about the founding of Equestria kinda requires them to not die so that they can do that. I did enjoy the episode, although like Star said it's not one of my favorites because it deals so much with worldbuilding rather than much of a cast conflict. That said, I thought it was very well written; the dynamics between each pair of characters was great, especially Smart Cookie and Clover the Clever's exasperation with Puddinghead and Platinum.

I still find the song one of the few legitimately saccharine moments in the show, though.

I thought the Hearth's Warming Eve episode was about average. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either.

Yeaaah the song was just a generic Christmas carol and when I was watching that bit in the episode and I was thinking to myself: "God help me this song is so Blegh!" To be honest I think we all could've lived without that song being in that episode just sayin'.

One of my favorite episodes. I LOVED the world building, the humor.. everything except for the way the mane 6 acted backstage. And yes I know it was written by Williams, in fact it HAS all the things that normally make her a bad writer for the show. It's just in this case, the concept was one in which those normal flaws actually worked or didn't matter. All new characters, so no worrying about derailing pre-existing ones. And a good, believable in story reasons for everypony to be acting like jerks.

As for the song, I freaking LOVE it, it's, just perfect.

Nope, worked fine for me. Then again I love Christmas Carols for the most part.

I mean I'm all for Christmas songs but this one just felt corny to me. Now if you'll excuse me Seraph, I'm gonna listen to Becoming Popular right now.

@Storyyeller Even so I'm not a fan of that song but whatever shouldn't really worry about a short song anyway. And yeah your right it's not bad as other songs I've heard in cartoons.

Yeah, it's not bad or anything, just not one of the show's best.

Speaking of Becoming Popular, this remix just works and is the best I've heard.
