I think it's genuine interest in the Wasteland as as a setting in it's own right that holds some interest. There's a lot of world building and I think writers want to play in it.

I think that's one of the reasons I never really got into it; I prefer making up my own worldbuilding to messing with an existing setting, which is why I rarely muck around with the setting in my own fanfic.

It also came out (or most of the chapters at least, I think) during the summer break between Seasons 1 & 2. First season break, only the Season 1 stuff to do crazy speculations on. Suppose timing is everything.

I'm not sure I'll ever read Fallout:Equestria as I understand in darkens the established world while remaining fairly juvenile in its approach.

@JT: Ah, I wondered where a person would get such vast free time.

I've probably expressed this a million times before, but I'd like to get back into writing. Even if it's just fanfiction. I love telling stories but I'm not very good at it. All I have is ideas, maybe a scene or two, but nothing in the way of actual details.

I've been trying to get back into writing my original stuff, which is an uphill battle considering how busy I am. Stupid full time job, getting in the way of my fanfic.

Just, just read my damn review of it, more then explains all the ways I freaking LOVE it.

Yes the setting is darker, much MUCH darker but 'juvenile way" what!? Oh hell no. This is one of the few fics to use the darkness right. And, even then the story itself, outside the setting, is fully in line with the feel of MLP, being about light, friendship, and above all, Hope.

Damnit, you all know what happens when you mention that fic in this thread....

It's more that it was one of the earliest large scale fanfic projects in the fandom; at the time it came out there weren't many other stories of that scope with half-decent quality.

I think this is the main reason.

For what it's worth, this thread is over 10 times as long. Of course it's not really the same thing.

I love FOE because I love good crossovers and Fallout Equestia is best I ever read.

I don't understand why people view this as weird. Fallout is something what Bronies could like. Big part of fanbase is made from people who are not usually into stuff like MLPFIM

Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe.
