Sorry to say, but a lot of the appeal is visual. Each vocaloid has a unique design and the songs have animated music videos that go along with them.

Essentially from what I can gather, Vocaloids are pretty much the Japanese versions of Gorillaz in a sense. Then again I've only heard Vocaloids singing on the odd occasion to be honest.

Don't feel bad. I don't get the appeal of Vocaloid either.

@Dark I like Vocaloid, but I don't really like the covers (Thought I've heard one cover for a few second and then ran away in disgust). And I agree with Bluespade there. Most of their appeal is visual. Their nature as instruments use bu indie/dojin musicians means that Sturgeon's Law generally applies here.

Yes, but there are (and always had been) English-Language Vocaloids. (And now there are also Spanish and Korean ones, [I don't think the Chinese ones have been released yet])

I can only wager that the Vocaloids have covered over a million songs to video game music, songs in cartoons, you name it they've probably covered the whole lot by now.

Yeah its a Rule Of the Internet. (Though I also expect Dubstep and Touhou remixes to songs to be just as ubiquitous)

One word to describe that video is: weird.

Once again I'm too tired to get any artwork done.

I was supposed to have a whole bunch of character concepts done.

So I finally got around the listening to that Blurred Lines song. Even watched the video.

That was... really dumb. Not like, offensively bad or anything, just... incredibly insubstantial. A two note basline and drum, the same set of lyrics twice with an uninspired rap in the middle, and a video so devoid of substance I'm fairly certain things that were filmed and cut in spontaneously stopped existing in the aired edition.

Yup. I think I'll go listen to some actual music now.

Ah... lyrical complexity, an interesting subject, varied music and actual singing. Good stuff.

Well that's Cowboy Bebop finished completely. Overall it was an awesome anime and as of now, it's my favourite anime as of writing, just the memoriable cast of characters, stunning musical score and visuals and it's a brilliantly well written action packed show. Definatly something I want to watch again. Why? Because it's SOOOOO awesome.

@Starscream: if you liked Cowboy Bebop, you should give Outlaw Star a go.

Since I watched Madoka Movies today I decided to check for MLP/PMMM crossover fanarts, but got nothing new :/

Yeah, awesome anime. There's a reason why it still holds up today. I only regret not being able to see the flashback sequence in Ballad of Fallen Angels and the brief fight with Vicious in the last five minutes.

RWBY is definitively worth a shot.

Haven't seen Madoka yet, yet I can still recall the plot. Is it It Was His Sled or did I read too many spoilers?
